  1. R250 - GOOD price, give us the details of supplier - thanks
  2. As JB says, If the rotors are warped, you're stuffed. What did the trick for me: Loosen the calipers, take the wheel off. Fold a business card over the rotor, put the wheel back with the business card inbetween the pads. Wiggle the wheel a bit to even further push back the pistons. Fasten the skewer, hold the brakelever and tighten the caliper bolts again. Turn the wheel to remove the card. If this doesn't work - buy new rotors!
  3. I have ZTR Olympics with Hope hubs - Great wheelset! One thing however the rear Hope is really loud, sounds like an old, dry fishing reel when you freewheel. It does intimidate riders in front if you approach, but you must decide if you'll get used to that noise sound! Pretorium2010-03-19 13:22:56
  4. Don't try to bullsh!t and never ever lie!

    Any bets

Anyone know if you would be able to take a bike on Gautrain?
  7. Just a question, did you loose any braking/ stopping power by fitting the Alligator rotors?
  8. I have a Trapezium 3 bike carrier - Free to a good home. Just needs a new towbar mounting bracket. Has the oversize boxes - ideal for MTB. PM me for a pic
  9. I'd say, begin with your LBS. They'll know who the importers are. My experience is that the importer/ distributor will replace your frame, provided it is obvious the damage is not caused externally ie a crash or something similar. In this case it seems clear the damage is on a welding joint. Not many people who can weld alu, I'd try my best to have it replaced. Perhaps you're lucky & get new 2010! Good luck
  10. Looks like a warrantee claim...
  11. Much appreciated. Will watch CGC site. As you have realised, this site is also a good means of communication. Keep it up!!
  12. The series I'm referring to, is the Nissan MTB series, previously known as the FPC MTB series, which is now a Provincial series. (Marathon & Half marathon) Would appreciate some feedback, I might just be in with a shot as well.
  13. Jaco, Iwould like to echo the sentiment - the evening was great. being inquisitive, I found out about the awards evening - my club did not inform me. The Nissan series is also a Provincial series. When will those awards be given, as the last event (Pecanwood) is only on 21 November 2009.
  14. If you pay FPC membership before end of year, you get free bike servicing for the whole of next year. (Think it's first 500 only.) Hurry!!
  15. Further to this discussion - Would XT blades fit XTR?
  16. Check out this article. Hope SAPS sets a trap and get these thugs http://www.beeld.com/Content/Suid-Afrika/Nuus/1928/4ab54c9146ee488e99e76c8f015d5b24/09-09-2009-12-47/Fietse_voor_en_tydens_ren_gesteel
  17. I recently bought ZTR Olympic rims with Hope Hubs. They're quite light and I think good value for money, compared to a good set of DT Swiss or XTR. Also, super easy to do tubeless conversion on these rims Paid about R6000.00. They attract a lot of attention, but I must say the loud noise from the rear hub takes some getting used to - sounds like a fishing reel. Must say, I love my wheels and would reccomend them.
  18. I'm sure Burry had same at AAC Mankele...
  19. Experience with Probike was good, provided you have proof of purchase!!!
  20. Enduren Race drink - tastes like water but works like a bomb!
  21. Previously, the doping results of cyclists was published on CSA's site, but I hav'nt seen anything for quite while. Recently, Anti Doping Agency conducted some random tests at the last SA XC at Fountains, I'm curious, is the positive (Or negative) results still published?
  22. Chill bru, read some comments on the previous page... Also Fritz's comments on another thread re Tygervallei Results, under "Local Racing". I was also done in but sh!t happens. Dont let one person spoil the whole series - BE BACK & I'm sure you'll enjoy!
  23. Mark me down as dissapointed. Went down to Maritzburg for WC earlier this year and was looking forward to next year.
  24. I was one of those in the 30 who chased the frontrunners and had to turn around no less than 4 times! (That'll teach me to try and be in front). It turned out that the last time was one too many to try and get through the masses from behind and got seriously caught up at the singletrack which to my amazement most people were unable to ride. I don't think my result is thus an accurate reflection of my ability on the day, but must say that I still enjoyed the vibe and ridable sections. Never thought I would ever see calm and collected Wessel could stress: I saw him stressed like an elastic band! However, much has been said and I dont think one should critisize the event organisers for the mistake of one person (Lead Biker). Overall I think Fritz and Wessel did well in organising this event which most people enjoyed and will be back for the next as well. Furthermore, don't forget all the sponsorships - they did'nt just land out of nowhere. In these times I'm sure it takes quite some convincing to get them on board. We need them and do not want to dissapoint them. Well done FPC. VIVA NISSAN MTB SERIES!!!
  25. No-one ever heard of Enduren???!!!
