Small little additional point, while the distance to go signs are a good idea i noticed that in some places they were placed a bit off the distance by my GPS reading. Usually i don't see them but as i could not seem to hold any bunches wheel's i decided to relax and enjoy the ride more.

Did not see the gravel, but perhaps the orgs can sweep it for next year. The finish could move a bit higher up the road which also has an incline but then it will be too close to the main gate and hinder the cars leaving.

Not really the Carnival finish and hospitality area are separate and last weeks Emperors was quite a distance from finish to medal and hospitality area. But imo i prefer the finish as is, the section down to the stadium is @##$% fast so its nicely broken up by the turn then slight incline to the finish and it offers great spectator value.

Guess we're going to have to disagree. At least were were saved his infantile rant about hanging up his bike this time round. IMO i for one wont miss his pistol pose should he have won any stages.

Always well run as has been all the previous years i'v'e done it. Having the medium riders avoid the R23 worked out well

Enjoyed it but some observation. Turning off Heidelberg rd onto Vereeniging road the 2 Metro cops were standing by their car chatting leaving the marshals to regulate traffic. Why cant riders that take water sachets drop them close to the WP not 2/3 km further. The main VP bunch caught a big bunch of DL riders on the steps and were passing on the right. The front guys in DL accelerate making it difficult for the VP to ride ahead.and group ended up straggling the whole road. After the race i went to look for one of my mates who started in LL, at 12.45 the marshals and metro had left the intersection of Barry Marais and van Wyk Louw with still many riders on the road.
