This has been done for road safety, a few years back we had a tragedy around the Lido route where 2 riders were killed over the same weekend. Hubbers IanJ, Captain Slow, Chunky amongst others organised a ride to each accident scene where wreaths were laid. Agreed with the policing, many of these races have on day entries and dont have time to police the 3 limit. They also usually charge extra for late entries so it benefits them not to turn people away

Seems the biggest cost is club memebership, i dont mind ours as the benefits such as group rides with back up vehicle, hospitality tents at some races and oher fun day events are included.
