  8. Well if you put it like that DR. smileys/smiley4.gif Speaking of Friday is there not also a MTB race at Babalas lodge ? On the Koi pond, i have 2, but who on earth paints it. Wont that kill the fishies ??smileys/smiley5.gif
  9. There is a race on Fri in Benoni, which i was planning to do to try the new bike, but this ride sounds fun. There is then the Benoni World Champs the weekend which i can do as an alternate. Ah what to do, what to do
  10. Or you can wait for a Cyclelab yearly special and get expensive bikes cheaper smileys/smiley2.gif (ne Ewep smileys/smiley4.gif)
  11. George at Mean Machine in Germiston is a master wheel builder and guarantees you wont have any problems after. I had broken spoke problems with previous bikes and since he's done them up, nothing.
  12. Reckon its the elbino (sic) thing smileys/smiley36.gif If you have a good relationship with your LBS, take it to them and see if they will swop for the correct fitting. Thats what my LBS did with my derailer.
  13. Try it Goofs. I just might surprise you smileys/smiley17.gif
  14. This track thing is not for sissies.smileys/smiley11.gif Takes a bit getting used to riding at those angles. Only a few roadies pitched up. I did the 500m, 1500, but the most difficult was the 3000 smileys/smiley18.gif, how the guys manage to keep sucking oxygen after this i dont know, my lungs were burning (and then the trackies still do 30 laps smileys/smiley29.gif). Came last in 500 and 3000 (but not)lapped smileys/smiley2.gif)but i managed to clip into 3rd on the 1500smileys/smiley4.gif. Still, thoroughly enjoyed it and will be back
  15. smileys/smiley36.gif You'll be spinning yourself silly on a MTB unless you put on monster cranks. Sounds like a good idea and i'll be there if i can get off work in time.
  16. Ok well looks like i'll have to hit the streets of PTA where its a few degrees up on Jhb.
  17. Just ask JP Pearton, rides XC on HT (non disk) and marathons on FS (disks)
  18. That's like having sex in your parents bed. It's not the place and it just feels wrong... smileys/smiley36.gif Wrong but nice smileys/smiley4.gif
  19. Ewep, i do our road club rides on my HT fitted with slicks. When i 1st did this i got funny looks from some, but with lockout it feels like a road bike, and i can climb as good as others on road bikes including those that gave me funny looks. I do most of my road training on it, less chance of puncture, easier to handle and if your DS is out of action you can use the HT off road. If your road bike is out of action you can use the HT on road.
  20. I also go with a decent HT. You will notice the diffs on flatter XC routes such as Crater and Babalas routes.
  21. I have the Fizik Nisene, not sure where it slots into the Fizik table, but i've been riding on it for 3 weeks now and no complaints.
  22. Hey, my talents lie as far as changing a tube and wheel.smileys/smiley5.gif. But i see there are MTB maintenance books thats explain step by step how to do it though.
  23. Best bet i would say is to try Fritz Piennar.
