  1. Bicycling have a price guide for new bikes. As usual, 2nd hand will give you more bang for bucks but you need to be careful of duds. http://www.bicycling.co.za/bikes-gear/bike-buyers-guide/

    No, that's Sports discrimination.
  3. Should have taken an ice lollie and stuck it up his "where the sun don't shine"
  4. I've bought end of year road and MTB at considerable reduces price. Solomons is great for this.

  7. I've got Geax on my bike and found no issues regards grip however on the MTB review forum a number of users have complained about it particularly in wet conditions.

Would have, should have, could have, one will never know what the final result would have been in NZ. This is a whole new game and its going to be a cracker between top 2 IRB teams. They have played each other 86 times, NZ win tally 49 SA 34 and 3 draws. We do have a good track record at Ellis Park, last time they played there was 2004 with SA as victors 40-26.
  13. Jhb area Linden has good reviews and price wise Solomons in Woodmead is good as well.
  14. 40km is long ??
  15. Chat to your LBS, with my road bike i got them to swap the wheels the bike came out with as they had a weight limit, the swapped wheels were better quality and although more expensive i did not pay in.
  16. The 56km was more a roadie off road route, the 40km has been promised as a proper MTB route.
  17. Could also be a spoke peeking through the rim tape causing the repeated flats. I only use a the lever to remove the tire from rim but replace it with my hands after first inflating the tube slightly so it does not pinch between tire and rim.
  18. Wrong side of 100kg on Arch Ex and been riding them for 18 months during which iv'e had plenty "mishaps" but never had issues with them. Regards the whole "terrain" and " how you ride" thing, surely you want wheels that you are confident you can ride any terrain at your best without having to worry if your wheel will become a pretzel.
  19. Mmmm that happened on the "Oos Rondt", Bedfordview
  20. Minor stiff like gear setting, fitting new chain, cluster etc i do myself. Got the books and DVD's on self repair, I have stripped a road and MTB bare to see how it all works, and besides not fun i don't have the time or patience to do it regular and have plenty of other things i can do. LBS cost is easy to cover as i do my own garden and home maintenance where others will happily pay some one to do it. No bike shop will have 100% customer satisfaction 100% of time and errors can occur, its how often and how they deal with it that makes the difference for me.
  21. Ha Ha, i recall thread complaints about the exact same thing in the cradle, no where near East Rand.
  22. Another plus for Silverback is their very good back up policy.
  23. http://www.racetime.co.za/index.htm Results not up yet though.
