  1. Entered for the 60km road race, this will be only the 2nd time since March that iv'e been on the road bike.
  2. Japanese police have got to the bottom of a mysterious crime wave that saw 200 leather bicycle saddles vanish in a matter of months, reports say. Joji Kondo, 35, confessed to police that he would steal the saddles and then sniff and lick them when he got home, the Sports Hochi reported on Sunday. He told officers that he liked the texture and smell of leather and that he particularly “likes saddles sat on by women”, the newspaper said. Police in Yokohama, near Tokyo, had been receiving regular reports since January that bicycle seats were going missing, the paper and other media said. Kondo told police that he knew by the aroma whether the bike he was targeting belonged to a man or a woman, the paper said. The Kanagawa prefectural police declined to confirm the reports. http://www.iol.co.za/news/back-page/man-admits-to-stealing-200-bike-saddles-1.1568801#.UhyTgdJ_MUM

    Rugby...

  12. That certainly was an issue, perhaps next year they can advise start times. I was under impression that the 66 would start at 8am then 44 and lastly the 20km.
  13. Check rim vs tire combo as well, certain tires are easier and fit better on some rims
  14. Road race 8 September Please note Timed By: Championchip
  15. Plenty of notification of timing chip. The boards were just that number boards, which were used to distinguish between the distances, think of the mess if we did not ride with boards, easy enough for someone to ride short distance then claim long distance. Only issue i saw is the race was advertised to start 8am but the 20km riders started before this.
  16. Did the 44km and thoroughly enjoyed it, found route markings and marshaling excellent, course was fast and non technical, no bottlenecks either. Rib rolls at the end rounded off a great day in the saddle. Results are out http://www.championchip.co.za/home.htm
  17. Definitely MTB, easier to handle in traffic and far less chance of puncturing. I would even go the SS route for simplicity.

    MTB Seat

Swopped my name brand Fuji seat for Gobi recently and must say i like it so far.
  19. Climbed on my road bike last week for the 1st time since Feb when i did the carnival race, enjoyed it and have entered for the Fountains Benoni road race end of the month. MTB will always be my 1st preference but mixing it up adds more.
  20. Its cool, every little or big helps.
  21. No discrimination here, more a Hub thing than MTB.
  22. Done it last year, route is fast and friendly, elevation +/- 490m.
  23. Good bike, guy in our MTB group has one. 2nd hand if it has its original parts its recon Silver air shock with with XT derailer, Deore front and Shifters. Only thing i don't like are the Alex rims but that can be easily upgraded.
  24. He's made enough money from me including buying my 1st MTB from him, so he better oblige.
  25. \ Payment made, tell Frans to ensure he gets a good deal.
