  1. I have to reach 1200 points per week however with Discovery removing my TomTom from the system this is impossible yet they recommend to me to do some gym sessions using my heart rate monitor and running the park run. Still leaves me at 900 points only and how do I measure my heartrate when they DQ my device? Vitality races are a rarity in Gauteng and when you do find one they not linked to a timing company affiliated to Vitality. I mknow this is just a value add but somewhere along the line the company must question their integrity of endorsing TomTom devices only to eliminate it now. DV Response: ""Please remember that there are various ways to earning points towards your Vitality Active Rewards goal, such as completing parkruns, Vitality races, recording your steps and/heart rate using any of our compatible devices/app listed on: http://bit.ly/1TtKOZo Regards, DV""
  2. 30000 target points met on Vitality already. and receiving full point allocation on Vitality active which gives me two smoothies per week for our group effort. Easy

  7. PPA should simply become an affiliate of Western Province Cycling and pay their nomal dues as any other club/affiiate would do thus ensuring that CSA cannot take control of any event they host with the exception that they woud have to pay CSA the normal fees as per requirement for events they host. We all know PPA is the cash cow that was keeping CSA on the go at some stage. PPA should be seen in the same light as Comrades Marathon Association running the Comrades under the KZN banner and Two Oceans committee running the Two Oceans underWertsern Province Athletics who all belong to CSA. Thus PPA as and affiliate of WP Cycling who inturn are registered with CSA. CSA then has no right to control what PPA does as it is an affiliate of WPC and follows their rules and regulations. A few years ago ASA tried same trick with Comrades and Two Oceans.
  8. Morning all After reading all these posts I thought I had lost my well spent money on my Cardio 30 purchased in November 2011. Jason proved this wrong within a week I received a Brand new cardio 35 as a replacement unit for my old one which had a casing issue nothing wrong with software or the unit itself. Well done Ballistic Bike Trading, I will continue my support for your product.
  9. At least one gets to hear and see what the Cycletour does for the community and cycling in the Cape whilst here in Jozi we do not know what happens with the proceeeds of the 94.7cyce challenge charity wise.
  10. On behalf of Esmero and New Horizons cycling we appreciate and thank all for the help and wishes they displayed to the family of Rowan who was closely linked to the two clubs. RIP buddy
  11. Hi I'll offer you R1050-00 for the bike
  12. Doug has the dream and UCI/ASO has mentioned it as a possibility in the near future.Finances from MTN is a done deal and NO NO NO it is not for a BLACk SQUAD but a South African/African based team who will need international expertise and riders as well. This will happen soon.
  13. Well done Cherise you made your point, now go out and do what you do best "Ride your bikes" prove your worth at both disciplines. Pity how CSA over the years stiffled our lady riders abilities and international exposure with their own interests Anke Erlank Anriette Schoeman Ronel van Wyk Casandra Slingerland Now Cherise Stander "hope this is the end" and that CSA will do right in the future I hope the future stars such as An-Li,Dalton sisters, the youngster from PE (Her name escapes me) are going to benefit from this mishap.
  14. Reading the criteria based on selection policy on the CSA webiste there is CLEARLY no way Cherise could be left out of the team EXCEPT for her possibly not been a "TEAM PLAYER".COME on CSA lay the facts bare to put the matter to rest, if not then Cherise should continue her case through the courts. Some of the policy as on the website: 2. SELECTIONS The Selections for the Olympic Games will be done according to these regulations and qualifications of the UCI & SASCOC which can be found on www.uci.ch and www.roadtolondon.co.za 5.8 Automatic Selections 5.8.1 One (1) of the top four (4) South-African cyclists inside the top 100 overall on UCI Road Cycling Classification at 1 September of the previous year until 24 August of the year of the World Championships, will be selected. The selection of this cyclist will be based on suitability and demonstrated ability during the UCI competition period to deliver medal winning performances on a road race course of similar profile and/or characteristics of the World Road Race Championship. 5.9.2 In no specific order of priority, National Selectors will consider the following factors pertaining to performances in UCI women’s road race events for the first 8 months of the year of World Championships: i. individual performances/results in local and international road race events ii. a cyclist’s demonstrated ability to perform a team role as a domestique, servicing team leaders. Team results will be considered within this assessment. iii. demonstrated technical and leadership qualities iv. demonstrated qualities, skills and suitability of the cyclist to the proposed course for the World Championship v. Particular regard will be given to a cyclist’s demonstrated ability for teamwork, team cohesion and consistency of performance Dictator difference with your examples and SA squad is miles apart. Our ladies team in my opinion only has two persons with possible chance at top 10 finish (Ashley and Cherise) The Kenyan mens team for example had 54 qualifiers to fill 4 positions and they stuck to the laid down criteria, same for their ladies team with 17 qualifirs.
  15. What is the "strict criteria" been mentioned, we all know to well what Cherise is capable of and her UCI raking proves it. Team sport -workers required to work for Ash is good and well, no issue with that BUT has this been discussed with Cherise before and has she been given a chance to reply? Reading between the lines it means that Cherise is a disruptive force and not a team players based on the selectors reasoning is all that one can assume. Cherise you know your abilities and where you now stand with CSA with regards road cycling. We feel for you.
