  1. My two favourate fighter aircraft in one pic.
  2. My new favourate thread by the looks of it. Huge aviation fan here.
  3. Well it will be some time before I am getting into this challange. We are having quite a bit of snow at the moment. The most weve had in several years. And it will be snowing for quite some time to come. Well my oldest daughter is liking this as her school got cancelled for today due to too much snow.
  4. Thanks for adding me by default. I think you have now a solution for the Sani2C Challange. Make two challanges and the winner of both/or best avg of both wins.
  5. I takes a ride or two to get used to it but then life is normal again. Whenever I have to drag my laptop to and from work it feels like I am carrying a bag of sement but by the second ride it is all cool. Even cooler when you all of a sudden do not have to carry the laptop again.
  6. Joined up. Well done Cat-i on a very impressive start. I will let you guys (and girls) get a head start. It is snowing and more snow to come. Looking forward to a good 2019 commute. Eventually missed my 10k mark on Strava. We had actually wonderfull weather the last week of December and getting the last 200 km was so within reach, just to start with a cold and fever on Christmas day and then problems with my back muscels. Needles to say I was pretty "dieMoerin". No excuses this year.
  7. I often see this guy in our town on a fatbike commuting with a full face helmet and set of glasses that make it look as if he is a fighter pilot. I start sweating when I see him.
  8. Went on a 30 km ride and wanted to take some awesome pics with some snow and setting sun. But the cellphone batery which was not fully charged did not like the -4 temps I was cycling in. As I took the pic the phone just died
  9. #Gatkruiper
  10. Too much beer makes him tooo strong.
  11. Washing in the shower often but also soak it in water with a bit of vinegar
  12. You guys are giving "Cape Town danger areas" a whole new meaning ... #JustSaying
  13. Should have taken the snake with you and give it to your new friend for christmas.
  14. Add biltong to the menu and you should be sorted
  15. Other than in your shorts
  16. I have to admit it was in a torn state.
  17. Once got a bad cut to my tyre in Pretoria but thanks to the local friendly smokers there were lots of empty cigarette boxes lying around. Slipped in a piece of the box between the tyre and tube and I could continue my ride with no problem.
  18. That is propably one of the big things about commuting. You can't do it by car and also not by train or bus. Everyy once in a while (actually more often than not) I stop and watch the flowers/sunset/sunrise/view in the forest/whatever.
  19. Cycling is fun. Do I need any other reason to commute by bike?
  20. It's actually not so diffficult. As long as the route is sortof safe.
  21. When I started commuting back in 2001. We had showers at work but no hot water. The boiler needed to be fixed in a government building. It took a year to be fixed but it did happen eventually. I just went to the maintenance guys every day. Think the boiler got fixed with the main priority to stop me from annoying them. Non the less, the first winter with cold showers were ... lets say .. f. refreshing.
  22. Was not feeling to well yesterday so was at home. Took the train today and had delays home and for a bonus prise missed the bus because of the train. Needles to say I soooo missed my commute this morning. Will be back on the bike tomorrow. The Ruskies are sending us some cool air next week. Things will be getting interesting on the commutes from now on.
  23. I tend to do quite a bit of stretching at my desk when I get to work. That helps quite a bit.
  24. Like two years ago I guy on a scooter drove out in front of me thinking I would never catch up. He never even looked in his mirror again so never noticed that I actually was approaching with speed. He obviously though that it was the beginning of a long uphill and I would never catch up. So I passed him on his right and just as I was right next to him I made this these loud barking sounds. He practically pooped himself and almost lost control of his scooter.
  25. Almost took out a young guy last week with my car in the dark. He had no lights, no reflectors, dark clothing. I simply just could not see him. Luckily we did not collide but it was close. Was thinking about asking the police if they can't do some spot checks on the cyclepaths in the evenings and maybe the mornings and start giving these guys a hard time.
