I use WhatsApp location sharing on my phone when I go cycling. >3 hours no problem. And that's on a Hauwei P30 from 2019 that is still going strong!

I reckon we organise a Bikehub group ride and take these assholes out once and for all. I am so sick of reading about this year after year. How on earth the police/law enforcement are unable to do anything about it is ridiculous. 😡 There's "patrols" for like a week max, when **** gets really bad (why does it even take a bad incident for them to do their job) and then it's back to the wild west for months (years) on end.

I see the results from Winelands are now available on Racetec's website too. And the One Tonner. But you can't see the total per category, just your position. Nor can you see your start group position, just the start group letter. 😒

A couple with Z numbers were adamant they wanted to start in C. 🤣 I heard them arguing with the marshall, to the point where the guy said: "What if I take off the number and just ride the route by myself?" 🤦‍♂️ I think the marshall gave up at that point. Geezuz, there's always one (in this case, two) at every event.

Entered a while ago, but only just realized it's on a Saturday – woohoo! Much better than on Sunday IMHO.

The first 5km in C were also wild. When we got onto Distillery Road, things settled down a little. But yeah, it's not a fun way to start with so many turns and roundabouts.

Great event, strange that there's no event page/post for it. Reminds that the views on the Hub are just a small percentage of what's actually going on out there. 😉 Anyway, another thing I don't like about the FinishTime results page (aside from the wasteful disposable timing chips, lack of historic race data, etc.) is that there does not seem to be a way to view finishers by category. i.e. I want to see how everyone did in my starting category. The "Category Results" link just shows the top 3 in each category, same with gender. 😞 Also looking forward to there being fewer questions at each future race number collection of people asking if they need to also bring their RaceTec chips and how do they mount the FinishTime one. 😜 That really made things take longer than they needed to at collection in Wellington on Friday.
