  1. Do they do any work at the PPA office?!
  2. That was cruel! Got my hopes up there for a hundredth of a second...
  3. The Edge 500 is very cool! I put a speed/cadence sensor on my road and MTB. It's worked perfectly since I got it - no issues whatsoever. As in metric/imperial? If you're not logged in and don't have a Garmin Connect account you can view an activity in metric units by clicking the "View in Metric" link (top right of the screen). Otherwise it's a setting in your profile/account.
  4. Lol, this sounds like a bit of a lottery at the moment as to where my order will end up. I just hope I get it eventually.
  5. Thanks for the reply Capricorn! I'll be hoping they wake up on the right side. I'll work on 14% as I've only ordered bike spares, however I ordered 2x Park Tools: a chain wear indicator and a BB spanner. The rest of the order is just a crank, cassette, chain etc. Apparently tools attract some additional duties? Either way, the combined value of the tools is under R300 so the charge shouldn't be too bad!
  6. Thanks velo. When you say cash - should I bank on having about 16% of my order? Or is just 14% VAT I'll be charged? I guess what I'm asking is how can I work out what the exact amount I need to have ready is.
  7. Hey guys I ordered some stuff (ok a fair bit) from CRC this morning. Used "Parcel Force International" as the shipping method so that it's free. I specified my work address as the delivery address, but am I correct in assuming this actually goes to the post office so that tax/customs can be charged? If so, does it just go to your "nearest" post office? Thanks in advance!
  8. I'm going to seriously look for alternatives when it comes to renewing my PPA membership later this year. Absolute joke of an "organisation". More like the Pedal Power Disorganisation.
  9. 12th of April now...
  10. A dedicated cycling channel would be nice at this time of the year.
  11. Agreed. And the results are up on RaceTec's website within a day or two after the completion of a race anyway, so it's hardly them who are to blame...
  12. lol
  13. OK, so last time I checked today was Wednesday. Chances of the seedings being updated today still?
  14. Couldn't help myself...
  15. I don't think getting pulled by any individual or group is going to help your cycling. If anything riding in a group low down by yourself is going to benefit you more.
  16. But that's what the race results are for! Yes, you can look at your seeding and compare it to what it was previously, but you can't compare your seeding to mine per se. Anyway, we all know the PPA are a little lazy.
  17. Yeah, but Argus aside would it have made a big difference to have had your seeding updated after the end of January? I'm pretty sure your Argus seeding was determined by then anyway. But you are right, it would be nice if it got updated monthly, regardless.
  18. I queried this with the PPA and was told it'll be updated on (or after) the first Wednesday of April. This will include the Argus and the other races pre-March this year. Last seeding update took place at the end of January.
  19. face + palm. firewalker answered your question.
  20. Awesome photos - thanks Ronelle!
  21. Lance Armstrong will confront US radio talkshow host Tony Kornheiser today after the sports journalist recommended running riders down during an anti-cycling rant. The seven-time Tour de France winner wrote on his Twitter page: "... Just off the phone w/ Tony Kornheiser who's very sorry 4 his comments re: cyclists. Going on the show 2morrow 2 discuss this w/ him." http://www.bikeradar.com/news/article/radio-host-kornheiser-apologises-to-armstrong-25432
