  11. Don't know if it works, as I did not try it myself, but some say Coke to the trick. Take a bucket of Coke and let the spanners lay in it over night. If I were you I only test it with one Allen key to see if it works. I suggest you trough the coke away then....

  14. I am a tall guy (1.9m) and wears a size 12 shoe. Bought some new road shoes (Scott Team) that fits perfectly. Screwed on the cleats to the shoes... The cleats are positioned most to the inside of my feet to maximize the clearance between my feet and the cranks. But no space between my feet and the cranks .... I will not be able to pedal like that Seems like the axle of the pedal is too short... at least 2cm. (have wide feet...) Now my question. Do you get different sizes of pedals in terms of the axle length? If you get different road shoe sizes, you should get different axle lengths? How can size 5 shoe use the same pedal as a size 12? Currently use some old look pedals (generation before the Keo (think it is 586 or something). My old shoes are Diadora shoes have more than 3 holes on the sole that means you have more options to position the cleat. My old pedals and shoes are now about 8 years old and I thought I only upgrade the shoes. seems like I have to get some new pedals as well. any advice please???
  15. See there is a "Sean Badenhorst" user name from one of the Hubbers? If I remembered correctly, The previous Editor from this magazine also had the same name? Wonder if this is the same guy? Last time I heard from him, he was the guy testing all new equipment... But as said, the magazine is really not up to standard.
  16. You should hear my Carbon Vuelta's Loudest wheel on the road. I love the sound. The whole bunch can hear it! The guys on Zipp's ect. (usually at he back of the pack...). get frustrated when they hear I don't have to peddle, but still stay with them...

  20. Can any one tell me if I can use a Shimano BB (Ultegra) with a FSA carbon SLK crank? Bought it on the Hub, but want to use it with a new BB. It came with the "Mega Exo" BB. When I installed the "Mega Exo" BB on my Specialized frame, I was unable to screw both cubs to the frame to "lock". There is like a 1mm gap on one side, as the "BB tube inside" is too long. I went to the bike shop, and got a 2mm spacer. Now both cups are perfect on the frame, but the BB is now 1mm longer as the spacer is between the frame and the BB cup. This had the result that when I screw the arm together, the left crank arm is rubbing against the BB, and don,t want to spin. My previous Shimano BB (68/70) fits the frame perfectly, but is in fact 1mm shorter than the FSA BB. So, if I use the FSA crank with the Shimano BB, there will be a play of 1mm on the crank axle. This means that you will be able to shift / pull the crank left and right for 1 mm inside the BB. In short : Shimano BB fits my frame, but has play on the crank. FSA BB fits the crank, but 1mm to long for my frame. Can I use a shimano BB and put in a nylon washer between the BB and the crank arm (Left side) to clear the 1mm play? According to the guy at our LBS, you don't get 1mm BB spacers (only 2mm?) Advice will be appreciated.
  21. Somebody has to pay for all the new expensive bikes Andrew McLean is riding........
  22. Sorry for putting this under the For sale space, but this is the most popular space ?Hubers? looking?.. <?: prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /> Bought a set Mavic Cosmic SL clinchers (Carbon 52 mm profile) on The Hub. (Hubs look the same as Mavic Ksyrium Elite wheels. (20 spokes at back and 16 front) The wheels are in a very good condition, but the rear hub is not that smooth as I want it to be. According to the Mavic website it has some kind of QRM+ bearings. The + means that you can adjust the bearing tension as I understand? Need some kind of tool?. The thing is that I want to replace the bearings with new ones. Anybody knows were I can get geniune factory fitted mavic bearings ? Know I can go to a bearing shop and get some cheap bearing that will fit, but out of experience I know after doing that, is newer the same again?. Can not see a support service on the the Mavic site?
