I question this as a cyclist not wanting to have more cars put on the road unnecessary i.e.people driving a bit just for a safe day. I also have some feedback on cholesterol below from the principle of my broker: SafeDayz is indeed supposed to trigger a safe day if you stay at home (official positive communication regarding this is expected in the next few days). The intention is not to increase driving – globally this is happening already and the Multiply safedayz program was designed to help Multiply members be aware of their safety when doing so.The healthy heart score program now recognizes below average levels of cholesterol (and other readings) as precursors or indicators that trigger a shift in the classification (from green to amber, or amber to red). Again, official positive communication regarding this is expected in the next few days.

Not a profit of doom - just Cautiously optimistic! Read my 2nd paragraph even preparing that it will go ahead as planed and getting ready for another meaningful sub 3.

I hope SONA been postponed is not a leading indicator to the Cape Town cycle tour been postponed. Bitcoin seems to possibly have been the leading indicator on the traditional stock market! I started doing the miles again for the Cape Town cycle tour - I now really hope that it is on the traditional route and not postponed like SONA - or I am on dangerous road for longer than normal and for nothing!

I have some similar devices Triton (https://www.tritonshowers.co.uk/power-showers) which I got in the Uk and I got a relatively cheap speedheat unit (http://www.speedheat.net/) . I think I need to hook the speed heat unit to my borehole water. Thank for reminding me I had it! Problem is they use a lot of electricity so I suppose with my solar system will need to shower mid day!

If you have a hand hold shower in the house - take the head off and use the pipe in a water container while waiting for the warm water - this is then can be used as drinking water!

Any idea when they will adjust the Low cholesterol to fall in line with the world heath organization value of 2.8mmol/L they currently using a value of 4.11mmol/L I did a full Cholesterol test at Path care and nothing was flagged - submitted this to them more them a week ago and heard nothing.

The wind seems to be in full training now - forget 3 days on and 1 day off, it's more like 1 week on and 1 day off. We can only hope bye the day its so over trained it can't muster up even a breeze!

In terms of numbers of participants the MTB events are tiny compared to the CTCT. The Epic does take a week I know this so you could I suppose multiply the entrance by 7 to give a more accurate water use. I am not sure of the Epic route for 2018 but I am sure it also uses water from other towns not on the Cape Town water grid - for argument sake Stellies is not on the Cape Town water grid.

But should Day Zero arrive one may need to implement quite a few of the "fake new ideas." They may be implemented by default at that point.

Its the sentiment bye the general population - I think most of use know it will have little or no impact on day Zero . its the mass who think differently!

I am not suggesting it will be cancelled if it a W C only event. I am suggesting that by making it shorter in good time it has far more chance of happening. By not having the scenic areas like Chappies and suggesting to the out of towner you not getting much by been here (short event) and you can't "boast" about your time etc. At the end of the day some out of towner will still want to come and they welcome but other will say to much effort for a short event.

The new big building in town - FNB building will be, according to my sister, who works in it. It will be shut down on day Zero - something to do with aircon. So in her case, yes going to work will be canceled! They have been told they may need to go to JHB office to work.

But having the event completely cancelled on the day will even be less popular!

I know I am not going to be popular for saying this. I am also 100% aware that the Cycle tour will have ZERO impact on the fact that "Day Zero" for water will happen Cape Town regardless. But the sentiment by many people living in Cape Town are the cyclist are just a irritation on the road and quite selfish (not sure why because we only use the space we need and general ride to the left and on in the center of the lane). The Cycle tour bring all these cyclist (people) to the Cape for a cycling event - surely they know we don't have water - that's the general feeling of the greater population. This just creates even more animosity from the general population of Cape Town towards cyclist. Dealt with this animosity 1st hand at a coffee shop this morning. Please understand the general population does not consider all the positive the Cycle tour does - including not draining the cities water supply, and its very hard to educate the general population any different. Once they formed their opinion it hard to change that mind set. "From the stats - yes only about 15 000 cyclist are from out of town - but how many are coming alone or with families - I am going to suggest the event for 2 days swells the population of Cape Town by more than 15000 but closer to 45 000 - that's a thumb suck." That was one argument used against me / the cycle tour this morning. Possibly "The water shortage Cycle Tour" should announce rather earlier than later a different route ( one of the 6) - a shortened version - maybe the 48 km route from 2 years back or even possible include to Kalk bay and back via Boys drive (steep at the beginning) - sharp left on a down hill into Westlake Ave (by the golf course) and back to freeway - not sure if that's one of the 6 routes or even possible to manage. These route basically should not attract "Civil unrest." So still have a Cycle tour but discourage out of towners to come and rather encourage the local to take up these entries becoming available by out of towner not coming. The process would need to be managed ASAP and would involved out of towners informing the organizers that they will not attend. Just a fun day out for the locals of Cape Town to enjoy cycling on closed road including the freeway. Now stress on getting a time - sub 3 etc. Read my opening paragraph again before criticizing the suggestion!

I did the full blood test (Pathcare) and NOTHING was flagged - cost R422.80. I have suggested to my broker that Momentum should pay this in full at their expense (not using my heath saver etc) - reason even at Dischem where I did my 1st test, the nurse could not understand why I was been penalized for been low - 2.93. She showed me the normal range chart for total Cholesterol to be between 2.8 to 4.9 mmol/l. I think Momentum need to give reason why they feel they have right to increase cholesterol low levels - against what is regarded as normal - possible reported to the Ombudsman? On what medical grounds does a insurance company create their own standards against world health organization standard - that's just wrong!

News out - Zuma decides not to go Liberia - probably because he is work out how much more he can get from our TAX before he is shown the door. Water is the responsibility of National Goverment. Now the DA are trying to find ways to get more money out of the Cape Town residence - not for water - but to pay their staff / commitment / wastage / corruption! They were getting "free income" from water but that "bitcoin" seems to be popping!

The TRUTH about the Western Cape "Drought" - it's NOT a dought, it's a failure to plan by Government! This is an article by Mr. Stephen Irwin - Kirstenhof: I am tired of being lied to by politicians. Such as Patricia de Lille banging on about this being the worst drought in 100 years, which to me did not ring true. So after considerable trouble, more on this later, I gathered the rainfall statistics for Theewaterskloof Dam back to 1975 as these were the most readily available. That dam represents 53% of the total storage and other dams would be quite similar. This revealed the following annual rainfall statistics: highest 972mm in 1977, lowest 319mm in 2004. Average over past 32 years is 561mm. Now, if you do a three-year running average, we get a figure of 485mm for the latest three years (507/420/529). Going back to 1975, we have the seven other years when the prior three-year running average was lower than now: 472mm in 2010/2011/2012; 479mm in 2009/2010/2011; 471mm in 2003/2004/2005; and 465mm 2002/2003/2004; 438mm in 1990/1991/1992; 465mm in 1982/1983/1984; and, the worst was 428mm in 1978/1979/1980. In those years we had, through proper planning, surplus storage. The bad news is that the last two drought cycles lasted four years - this is only year three. Drought implies a lack of rainfall, so this is nowhere near the worst drought and this is only going back 33 years, not 100. What really we have is the worst water shortage (storage/person) in 100 years, if not of all time. We do not have too little water but too many people. The politicians cannot say that, as that implies bad planning. It is far easier to blame Mother Nature or global warming. You also cannot blame the experts as they know that there are no quick solutions and that you need to build reserve capacity well in advance of population growth. Unfortunately, in 2007/8 they warned of future problems, but we had good rain in 2008 of 729mm; and they warned again in 2012/3, but again we had good rain in 2014 of 729mm. This gave the politicians the excuse to divert the required funds to projects that pleased the electorate rather than on some vital, but boring, water project. This has now come back to bite them in the backside and we should make sure they feel it. Now this ex-socialist wants us to pay for their errors and then also, in some fascist manner, wants us to stop using aquifer water so they can pump it out and sell it back to us at some exorbitant rate. I feel a class-action lawsuit coming on. Also, her banging on about the “new normal” is also patently untrue and dangerous, and this message will only drive away tourism and new industries, and may even cause existing ones to relocate. That is a very expensive way to get the water-people ratio right. I do not see the point of declaring an emergency and then sticking to bureaucratic red tape. Build the dam desalination plants already! If the ANC tries to prevent this, let them be the ones brave enough to seek a court interdict. As mentioned above, getting rainfall statistics proved quite difficult, mainly due to the SA Weather Service's charge for this information at extremely heavy rates, with an undertaking that the information cannot be disseminated to others. I find this quite disgusting that taxpayers are expected to pay for information collected at their expense. They only installed street light in my area last year - so yes been paying for that for about a year - not sure how - but I just assumed as part of the rates for been in the area and surely water meter fall in this too? Not a separate charge!

Low cholesterol levels have been linked to an increase in mortality associated with trauma, some types of cancer, hemorrhagic stroke, respiratory and infectious diseases, depression, suicide, anxiety, impulsivity and/or aggression. Excessively low body fat percentage can also result in a myriad of health conditions including CVD.
