  1. I am in Pmb and if you are stuck i will gladly remove it for you. Come and do some riding in the midlands.
  2. Hi Guys Went to visit Trevor yesterday in ICU yesterday. He is doing well. Broken wrist, elbow and a knee that was dislocated. They are keeping him in ICU just to ensure that he has no internal swelling putting pressure on his heart and lungs. He should be transfered to general ward today. The doctores have fixed his wrist but still need to operate on his elbow but need the swelling to go down. It is a absalute miracle that he is alive! I saw the damage to the Taxi and could not believe he survived. All his cyccling friends are very shaken at the moment.
  3. Hi During the amashova ride and afterwards i must of emptied at least a cup full of water out of my Raleigh rc 7000 frame.
  4. HI Negle What about fly ash ( i think that is what it is called) The ash left over from coal burning boliers. We used to use that to surface our roads in Mpumalanga, the red clay was just as hard and slippery there.I know the hospitals all have boilers. maybe start there.
  5. Buy the momsen locally too. Speak to Grant at Adrenalin cycle in Howick or Minnaer cycles in PMB
  6. Buy the momsen you will not regret it. Very popular bike in PMB
  7. Hi Guys My 2 cents worth on Giant. I have been riding a giant mtb for 6 years now, i have broken 2 frames and can only say positive things about Dragon sports. The dealers though can be a different story. I have found the local dealer to be very disinterested and seems to have lost his passion for cycling. But then there are other dealers around. regards
  8. the team event which i thought was serious event in starting at 7H06. When i called the office to ask why were were starting so far back i was told that it was a fun thing to ride as a team.I am very concerned about our safety with all the slower riders being all over the road.
  9. who cares what you do off the bicycle!!!! Dont infringe on the rights of others and that goes for ths straight and not so striaght
  10. Brandon Steward rides one. Great value for money
  11. Weight Weenie. Have a look at the momsen 29 carbon , I think it is R16k with front shock. it is one of the most stunning frames i have even seen. I rode one this week end and was blown away. The cannondale is also a great bike. www.momsenbikes.com
  12. I am looking for a chain 9 speed for a 29er 118 links or more XT or SLX quality please
  13. Possible the old school bike shops but i doubt it very much. I would call a few engineering shops first as they will do the job correctly. You will have to give them the size of the thread as the tool used to insert the helicoil only has a limited range of sizes it can insert. regards
  14. HI These hex bolts usually strip due to excess force when tightning. A torque wrench will stop this from happening again but they are not cheap. To fix this, a Helicoil nees to be inserted into the sripped thread. This is done by first drilling out the old thread with a special size drill bit(usually .6mm bigger than the thread size. Then the thread is tapped with a left hand thread tap and the helicoil is inserted into the tapped hole using a special tool. I am sure that most engineering companies who deal with aluminium heads can do this for you as the tools are quite expensive to buy for a once off job. You can PM me if you dont come right as i am in PMB. I think that i still have the tools to do it as i used to bulid up old motor bikes. I will have to look what i have as i have not done this in years
  15. I was down in Ape Town for the school holidays from PMB. I popped in at CWC and all the staff greated me including Chris Willemse snr.I was impressed as they they never seen me before. The owner obviously sets the standard and all the youngsters have to meet it. I wish all the bike shops had the same attitude. Keep it up CWC
  16. On the Bushamns MTB ride together with the 3 down arrows there was a sign stating ROADIES DISMOUNT NOW!!!. As i take part in both disciplines. The MTBiker in me really had a good chuckle as i was trying to stay on the bike. The problem was that i didnt find any roadies there to have laugh with.

  22. one word for unicycling Recession!!!!!!!!!!
  23. As a local Natal boy i can see both sides of the story. I understand that CSA would not give ROAG access to their database hence they had to create their own. This is also Roags first year and they are already expanding in to the road cycling events. The meaning to this is obvious and i think it will just be a matter of time before their database includes most cyclists. We have been using the Roag system for a few months now and i hope it stays, as it works very well and is effiecient. I do think that they possible can consider giving cyclists from other areas a ceeding based on a major race like the MTN series etc. As this is a huge race with lots of entries i can also see their side of the story. Please remenber that abusing other cyclists who have a higher seeding than you that are slower than is not in the spirit of Mtbiking. The race is also 100km in length so you will have many km to overtake the slower riders.
  24. I ordered chain rings and xt cluster on Tuesday and did not expect anything. What a surprise they arrived the following day.Great price and even better service
  25. Not too sure of the size of the magnets you are looking for but if it is strong magnets you are looking for,get an old computer hard drive from a pc shop and strip the magntes out of it. There will be 2 in each hard drive. They are so strong that you will not be able to remove them unless you slide them off or use a pai of pliers. hope this helps
