  1. Please god dont let there be a rematch. Watching people taking this one serious is painful enough.
  2. Perfect thanks! I'll skip the surf, Im from the Free State and will probably drown.
  3. Durban runners- Im staying at the SunCoast Casino this week. How safe is the surroundings to go for early morning/afternoon runs?
  4. It is, wish I could run sub4s???? It really is impressive,I think the issue is the inconsistency in wich they apply rules. Disqualifying one walker while everyone is in the wrong is just silly.
  5. Check the slow mo video that Ross Tucker posted on Twitter. Its a joke actually, its not walking at all. At best a very quick shuffle.
  6. The best option would be to go for a massage once a week, especially if you increase mileage and suffer from soreness.
  7. Only dynamic stretches before a run. Leg swings, hip mobalisers etc. After a run I stretch what ever feels excessively tight.
  8. We had a barista machine at work. Some idiot removed the portafilter while it was pressurised and blew steaming coffee over the whole canteen and his arm. We are using a kettle again.
  9. You know its all a setup? Right?
  10. The Speedcross is a terrible shoe. Made to be worn with jean pants to the shopping mall.
  11. It depends how and where you run. Tar will trash any trail shoe in no time. I have a pair of Sense Ultras with about 700km, the uppers are still perfect, and looking at the soles Im sure I'll get another 400 easy. On a pair of S Lab Wings I did about 200km so far, they still look brand new, no wear on the sole. And it's basically the same sole used on the Sense Ride.
  12. Just get a pair on your feet, the fit alone will convince you.
  13. The Salomon is much lighter, and with the sense fit they fit like a glove. When I tried the Cascadias it felt like wearing bricks. The Sense ride also have the new rocker sole.
  14. Did you have a look at the new Salomon Sense Ride? Price wise it should be similar, but personally I think it is a much better shoe than the Cascadia.
  15. Normal "compression" socks wont do much apart from making you look like Paula. If you want real compression socks you need to get medical grade socks, you get your calf measured to provide the correct amount of compression. They cost about R350 and they dont look like the grandpa ones you buy at Dischem. Got mine from a local Physio.
  16. Go to the physio for treatment and then to the Bio for rehab and prevention.
  17. Running injuries are just so frustrating, I kept running or ran after an insufficient rest period and ended up not running for 6 months. The only way to beat itb is with condition exercises, you can rest for a year and it will be back within 4km on your first run.
  18. I really feel like giving them a go, but damn its ugly.
  19. Stupid question, when does Comrades entries open? And is it the same struggle to get in as omtom?
  20. No there is definately an issue with the durabilty of the upper, but normal wear wont damage them. The problem is that they really dont like rocks, a small knick will tear open quickly.
  21. The Sense Pro2 uppers are only dodgy if you run into rocks instead of over them. I have both the previous range of Sense Pros and the Sense Pro2, both still going strong after 500km. As an all round trail shoe these are probably your best bet, but dont put them on tar. At 6mm the drop is in the sweet spot for me. If you prefer a bigger drop then the S Lab wings might work, they are 9mm if Im not mistaken. This is probably the most comfortable Salomon trail shoe, you dont even notice them on long runs.
  22. Im also trying out the Pegasus 33 now. Only did about 120km in total with the longest a 21km. So far I have no issues, they just feel funny in the beginning with the dual air pockets.
  23. It took me more than a year to run comfortably and with less injuries.
