  1. Just posting if someone is interested. Ive got a almost brand new pair of Nike Vomero 11s. Size 10.5 UK. I did one run in them and some walking around the house. I just cant get used to the fit. I prefer the tighter fit of the Pegasus. R800, wich is about half what I paid.
  2. Thats a bargain! I tried them on, feels great. Sizing is just a little off.
  3. Two weeks ago I did a trail run half marathon. It was raining and muddy, so stupid me decided to run in an old pair of Salomons, with 800km plus on them. Long story short, I ended up with tendinitis in both feet. Had to lay flat on my back for two days, unable to even walk. Today is the first day I can move around with almost no pain...touch wood. Its just amazing how quickly an injury can pop up. School fees paid, but 3 weeks before Comrades qualifying...????

  5. And the 22 500 Comrades entries????
  6. Time to get one going? It's amazing how it boomed in SA. We are the third biggest by locations in the world.
  7. Im also planning on doing a qualifying and my first marathon next month. Stressing is an understatement.
  8. One thing Ive learned from running is that nothing ever goes according to plan. Good luck, the rest will do you good.
  9. I spoke to the developer of the Mr Price shoes a while back. The runners demanded something that they wont be aware of while running, no gimmicks whatsoever. Just a superlight well constructed shoe.
  10. Remind me why we need shoes with Zoom, Boost, DNA midsoles or any other expensive tech...????
  11. I run with a 3mm, 6mm and 8mm trail shoes. 4mm and 12mm road shoes. They all feel the same???? The 3 and 4mm just kills my calves on hard runs.
  12. Zando is running a 75% off sale plus R400 off coupon for today. Lots of shoe bargains on various brands.
  13. What is a normal or average time to recover from a half marathon? Ive done three in the last 4 weeks, and after everyone Im sore and dead on my legs for atleast 3-4 days. Is this normal? Thats a big chunk out of a training week. That said, Im not the fittest atm, so hopefully my recovery will improve before the comrades load starts.
  14. Fast is a relevant term. My fast is Kipchoges trot to the hotel after a Marathon.
  15. These Strava groups can be intimidating. If I look at the weekly mileage of our local Comrades group I get very concerned..????
  16. Quite possible, Ive found that compensating for a niggle leads to sore muscles or worse somewhere else.
  17. Wonder if I can find a pair of discounted 1080 Comrades shoes now...????
  18. Great deal. Also some Brooks on onedayonly.
  19. Yeah..20km at 6min/mile pace????
  20. Between injuries and not qualifying what is the fall out % more or less. How many of the 20 000 will line up in Pmb?
  21. Seems like there is a bug in the Comrades site. Entries are over 20100 and people are still entering????
  22. It is, even in our small town its 1000 runners on a Saturday. Most of them probably never took part in an organized event before Parkrun. Its bloody addictive, I still cant wait to chase a PB every weekend.
  23. Exactly how I started. Forced to do my first Parkrun about a year and a half ago. Stuck to 5km a week for a few months and progressed to 10km and 21km from there. Now Im entered for Comrades and scared shitless???? Before I started running I watched the Comrades on tv and thought that its quite a far way to run. Now I think its bloody insane.
