  1. Agree not walnut from that bigger picture
  2. OK, now I see. I'd say Kiaat too. It can have colours ranging from white and brown to red/orange colours. Very distinct smell. Can irritate some peoples noses when working with it
  3. Could be Walnut too. Is it planked or from a slab? Do you have a picture of the whole plank?
  4. The Japanese. Just like everyone else, but more so. Their culture really pushes them to be the best they can be. I have seen many videos of even humble jobs like shoe polishing and pen sales being done with absolute pride. Then we get on to the crafts like woodwork, watch making etc .......
  5. Yes please. Rebuilds are always great to see
  6. Those corner solutions are the answer. However, getting the customer to pay for it is another story altogether
  7. Pretty much just marketing as you say
  8. Why Blum over Grass? I always thought they were equally as good as each other, both with Lifetime Guarantee?
  9. The biggest problem with corner units is that people tend to lean on the open doors to access the contents. Bi-fold doors, meaning the second door hinges on the first, are the biggest culprits because of the extra leverage it offers up. So best solution is to hinge each door onto the carcass by using good quality hinges (very important) Downside is they are expansive for good quality hinges, never mind 2 doors needing them. Second option is to use a rotating carousel to store the goods inside. You sacrifice a bit of space, but save the "leaning on the door" problem
  10. I could have probably worded that better. Thanks for the links. Just for interest sake, end grain boards are even gentler on knives that the edge grain boards and look newer for longer because the grain opens and closes slightly as the knife passes through or over it.
  11. You are correct. https://www.nytimes.com/1993/02/10/health/wooden-cutting-boards-found-safer-than-plastic.html The article says plastic, but still.....
  12. Something similar happened to me once. I was road riding on my MTB about 20km into the ride, battling along. Along came this old guy on one of this black single speed bikes and caught me on the uphill. He slowed down, said Hi and offered me a smoke. I declined, he lit one up for himself and powered away. I did the remaining 20km feeling very sorry for myself
  13. That was great Patch
  14. So Vettel to Renault? Or Red Bull? Or Merc? Or retire? Hmmmmm

  18. Where are you guys watching Chernobyl? It's not on Netflix or Showmax
  19. I was left feeling very underwhelmed. So much potential there and then, nothing........ Breaking Bad still my top show ever then.
  20. Haha, yes, true reflection of the series now. Some good moments, but running out of time/money/ideas? Cersei death was a bummer. Could have played out so much better after all she has done.
  21. Hmmm. So now if we can assume that Danny will die next episode, I reckon Jon will not want the throne and will return North to Tormund and Ghost. So, who will get the throne then? I reckon Tyrion will as a final twist Or Arya and Gendry? Arya unlikely, but Gendry because of him having some royal blood?
  22. Where did you order from?
  23. Well I did see a photo of him and Giniel De Villers together in SA, so.............
  24. Where are you guys watching Formula E?
  25. What's the distance and climbing for tomorrow?
