  1. i would have to say the low is looking at next years elite and pro teams that was released a week ago. Alot of names not in the big teams. sponsors pulling out of the sport...sad
  2. Come on E. Nothing like strenth trainning on a MTB up a gravel climb.
  3. Tx guys & girls. Send more compliments, i think my heads ready to take off like a hot airballoon She is really looking forward to mass at the end of this month. She loves her bike
  4. Great photo this
  5. Think we need to change thread name to Breaking Spokes...Ask Guru JB . Buying a set of Deep Sections on Friday. Anything I should be Looking out for that I should know about before buying JB as far as duribility and name brand on these?
  6. OK great. Will take in and tell them to replace all spokes and nipples. Thanks for all the feedback guys.
  7. Ja you see JB i have a feeling they just replaced the spoke last and did not worry too much about trueing the wheel as it was 2 days before die burger. Anyway, will take the wheel back with the bike as they need to replace the auluminium piece on the carbon frame where the derailer fits onto. do u think i should tell them to replace all the nipples on the rim that way i know they did them all?
  8. 2012 sst 2.0 fuji with 38mm oval rims. it really shouldnt be breaking and im 8kg lighter than when i bought the bike.
  9. ah johan u will know. first the ching then hear spoke hitting the frame then derailer coming off. last time it was just the spoke. when i put down hard power(watts) then it happens
  10. for the second time in a week i just broke another spoke this time taking the derailer with it. Luckily i had just finished the ride and was about 1km from home. Taking it back to shop where i got it fixed last week. My tech knowledge tells me they did not tension the spokes properly and probably only replaced the one spoke. am i missing something else it could be thats breaking my spokes all of a sudden?
  11. Fantastico!!
  12. u must be talking about cycles direct? only shop i know in a centre with spezies.
  13. Hey JA-Q001. The rims were sent away to a proffessional painter and powdercoated then sealed. I was told it would not come off...lets hope
  14. Heehee. yeah that was the main objective to bring it to mass. we will be there for sure
  15. Yip. use a paintstripper for the chrome then the rust will come back almost emmediately. use a rust removal gel. once clean, spray a rust resistant primer. i used a paint called mirror chrome which wasnt too bad but it lost a bit of the chrome look when the final lacquer was spryed on but still looks good
  16. Nice bike, congrats. im sure you hit the reserve by now with it.
  17. U and me both tube. she bought herself a 9k Trek in June and used it maybe 5 times and now all i do is pump the tires. Hope this does not go that way either, i will be miffed.
  18. Nah dont worry about the cracked lens, its only like 6-8k. Its the camera i am worried about. All the pics are up. its obviously a bit more tougher with events where there are 2-3000 entries plus. smaller ones are easier and able to shoot multiple pics of almost each rider. I am busy with some great new ideas for larger events and different ways of shooting not many people have thought of before. just like you guys and pros get their off season, mine is now too which gives me time for sometging new to test. Standby, this is going to get awsome.Site will also be updated per group number, making it easier to search. Almost forgot. There will also be 2 different websites. one for the fun riders/ sunday sportsman and then there will be the serious go hard or go home sportsman and woman website. So now you guys and girls know what to expect from next month. just on another quick note, thank you one and all for all your support and purchases this year. Wether it was a sports event or just a portrait, i am nothing without you.
  19. Thinking of a niner SS but it would be a buildup. No sandpaper and scraper nonsence.
  20. im no good at powder coating so went with normal paint then took frame once i had painted it to a panel beating shop for them to clear coat it as they use a very durable lacquer as a finishing gloss
  21. Finished Product
  22. So i got this old clapper from my mom which was up in the room of the garage for the last 25years. As you can imagine, it had rust on every mm of the bike. So i decide this would be nice for my wife if I restore it for her. She laughs knowing I am not the best handy man around and says we can rather buy her a old school bike. Never the less, i get the nod to fix it up. Man did i not know what i was getting myself in for. By the first week i was already questioning my sanity and buying a bike for her was becoming more of a reality and by the 50th time of a screw driver driving its way in to my flesh i almost gave up hope. By the way, swearing does help the pain. So after about 3-4 weeks, i have finally finished and i think it is bitter sweet. Apart from the wheels that were sprayed and rebuilt, i did everything else. Yes even the basket i built myself, not the weeving but the sourcing and leather strap. Only thing that remain is the chain goes on tonight and 2 cables for the brakes.
  23. Awsome awsome news. Made my day.
  24. Sorry to hear. we all have faith she will be found soon and returned to your families arms.
