Also i don't think those tyres are designed for conversion. they are pretty thin on the walls and prone to blowing. i used a patch on the inside of the tyre that worked really well. a piece of thickish rubber glued to the inside holds the tear and won't let the tube through. hope you come right...

dude, there's a Specialized hardrock here on the hub for about 6k. its an awesome bike, you can upgrade it later and the frame solid. i have one and love mine, been changing the specs and its turning into a quality HT. check it out.
Do the other stuff first. then save up, get a fork. cos to do the others gets really pricy and for R2k, that seems a bargain to me. So obviously the wheelset is v-brake? is it also disc brake compatible?
