  1. My first pair were also Olympics which were pretty comfy (until I go a pair of Shimanos) but it did break apart at one point while hiking the bike. The back up service was phenomenal, it's a really good product and with good service I think these guys will do well
  2. and all the commentator does is blither on about time trials! ha!
  3. Those enve wheels just do it for me...
  4. It seems they have changed it. I open we do get a confirmation via email. I would register the day before if possible to ask then...should be fun, didn't love the last one, too many portages.
  5. Oh! I thought you were talking about something else. Totally.
  6. thanks! will do...
  7. hi, has something else changed for you guys? i can't view the classified content? thanks
  8. kenda nevagals mate. drop the nick if possible as they aren't strong enough for a lot of the riding around KZN (that's a long term suggestion, not necessarily for this weekend). but enjoy it bru!! its an awesome ride and the Gauntlet is brilliant!
  9. or take your car to parents place...with the bike. ride home (45km). Ride to work next morning, then drive home, with bike. Repeat cycle (ha, pun intended). i've started doing a 45km loop in durbs every morning and being pretty fit its taking some time to get used to. not sure you want to jump into 90km a day immediately. and keep those yellow pages stuffed in you riding shorts too. i grew up in Mondeor, its a dangerous place!!!
  10. Jan 2010 45 C klein karoo. first day of a 4 day trip to Cape Town from Anysberg. we came from Maajtiesfontein. We camped along the route so had about 30kg (incl bikes) to deal with. That day we spent about 3 hours hiking our bikes down the back side of what we dubbed B@stard mountain. that was a hot day...found a "dam", it was pretty dry so it was a mud pool - dived in kit and all
  11. nice one man! hope you two had a lekker weekend up there! hopefully i'll see you soon. ant
  12. Cube for me. it has the same rear pivot system as the Spesh full suspension bikes. rides like a dream and they are the some of the hottest looking bikes. being brought in locally makes them worth it...
  13. my mate has had endless hassles with his SRAM. perhaps the guys at your LBS are not doing a proper job fixing it. and that's not XT. one of the most reliable groupsets around. visit another LBS and chat to them...
  14. "...you can tell be the way i use my walk, i'm a woman's man..."
  15. haha! no offence, not at all. but you're right the things are bloody expensive. i'd rather buy bike parts or food for my children (if i had any).
  16. no i do not work for ASG...i just saw the voucher and the special. but what the hell, he has two kidneys he can sell the one right? besides, since when is thehub a place of self promotion and product punting?
  17. rudy project also have a special on where you get the helmet for "free" and there is a voucher for R500 off the prescription lenses. if give their head office a call they'll let you know what the details are.
  18. clean your bike/wife/couch when selling
  19. exactly. i get the same thing. no rub, take wheel off, replace it (ends up in a different postition because the fork will flex a little different). if thats the case not a lot to be done, how bad is the rub? if not too serious, why worry?
  20. true rouxtjie (other than the crowded thing). if crack makes it up here you should pull in too. we'll organise a group ride or something up in Hilton. as for cracks Q about safety, i've been for loads of rides on my own and no incidents at all. would love to get my hands on a Zula though, stoked its made in ZA!
  21. Ah yes, i actually forget that the rest of the country pays for things like riding your bike. no its totally free. and if you wanted we could ride from cascades to the Underburg. no charge. thats what i love about the riding here, you're free to go wherever and (most of the time) no one hassles you! let me know if you ever come up here. cheers ant
  22. can i have them? i need some...!
  23. i also got lank lost. went for a short 25k ride and another 30ks later i wasn't too impressed...but i did have a good time though! as for the coast guys being spoilt...maybe with epic beaches, great surf and lots of decent night life. BUT pmb has the best riding possible. too bad it sucks at everything else...
  24. crack, there are some great trails at Cascades mall (behind the mall) with clear markers. Hilton is just up the road as well. if you ever around and i have time just let me know. we can go for a ride, i'll show you around...
  25. get up to PMB for real riding...
