  1. Danger. Still looking for a team? Think the missus and might be tempted. Cheers Stu
  2. I thought it was a great effort from the people that sweated it out in that heat. Unbelievable effort and a great cause. Although I was a little dissapointed to hear some of the Choc team abusing other riders during the ride. Shouting at them to get out the way etc. It was tough for the Choc guys but imagine how the people they were catching up the hills were finding it. They are representing a cause and should always remember that. This was not all of them and under the strain of pulling those carts it can't be easy. Having said that, well done and keep donating.
  3. Is TIK really bad for you? It worked better for me then gels last time I climbed Breedts.
  4. She needs somebody to scratch her itch.

    XC Wheels

Definitely 6 bolt and Tubeless ready. I don't want to be hacking around with conversion kits. What are the weight of the DT 420 SL, does not seem to be too much info on them? Get the idea that the AM's might not take the pounding, lightweight rider though.

    XC Wheels

Thanks for the repsonse. A few things to start thinking about, nothing on the DT Swiss wheels?
  7. Looking into new wheels, currently running Mavic SL's with XT hubs about 3 years old now and many K's under them. Looking for a ligth but reliable - contradiction - replacement set. Mostly for XC riding and some stage racing. So many options right now. What would hubbers recommend? Cheers E
  8. Same experience here. Even tried to phone them and got no answer. I posted on their own thread that was here and never got a response. Would like to know what has happened.
  9. It would take a big scale. Maybe a crane or two but it is possibly to make it scaleable
  10. Look at endomondo.com It is a good way to see other routes. They are working on an app that allows for route sharing and exporting routes onto a device.
  11. Hi Harry, I tried to visit yesterday afternoon. To my surprise it was closed and all locked up. Tried to phone the number provided under Contacts on the website and got no answer. What is up with that? Did I miss something about it being open Sat-Sun from 8am - 4pm? Ended up driving to Van Gaalen's to ride, maybe I should just go straight there next time.
  12. I am on to my 4th Edge 305. I have not had problems with it switching off during riding but not charging and not switching back on after a couple of months everytime. To there credit Avnic have replaced it free of charge everytime. It does take a couple of weeks, they claim they are trying to repair it. Which is BS in my opinion. The last time I asked if I could upgrade to the 705 and pay the difference and got firmly told to sell the 305 and buy a 705. Not what you would expect as a loyal customer. I own 2 Forerunners and a Quest. Just order a new Forerunner from Amazon and all in it cost me under 1500ZAR. A lot less then Avnic will sell them to you for.
  13. MTB 86.7 kph Nonstop Sani2C 2008. Going into the Umko valley. Passed some sconds in their Navarro. The beat me up the otherside though. 82.3 kph Nonstop Sani2C 2009. The back tyre burst about 30 minutes later climbing. Brand new Lust, i was glad that it did not happen on the way down. Both recorded on my Edge 305.
  14. Not sure where I missed the loop. Probably concentrating to hard on the awesome track and not on the directions. I spoke to Uge and Mich after the race and they will be improving things for the next one. I hope that does not mean changing the type of route. Well done. Not a bad ride for the kind of course it was.
  15. 70(50) ride. Agreed was proper mtb race, half the team did the short course and they are all still getting into the race and had a great time. A lot of time was spent hitting the dirt. I went back the next day for the Trail Run and the finished me off properly. Nothing quite like multi sporting. Which race did you do.
  16. I did the race. Uge put a really tough course in both the short and long race. The next one is on the 11th of July. We had a group of 6 riders and everybody enjoyed it.
