I've done a bit of research, and the 10% that the organiser collected on the prizemoney was because of a UCI regulation. Events of a certain level pay over 10% of the winnings to the national federation.

At this point is SA cycling I doubt if there is a 150 people to choose from in any case. The sport in SA is a sport for funriders.

The point I'm trying to make is that if there is a rival organisation, with its own events - by my understanding anyone who does well in a series like will not be eligible for provincial, or national colors.

Brighter-Lights, If the CSA MTB Commissioner does f***all in your province, don't re-elect him. As for the charity thing..... the day license fee has been levied for yonks, so unless it was the organisers' first event it shouldn't really come as a surprise. Paying back prize money? Again... the organisers know they're responsible for paying day licenses to CSA - so if they're collecting a portion of your prize money to pay "for the CSA" I have a nagging suspision that the organiser pocketed the money, never to be seen by the CSA. A rival organisation is a noble idea, but the reality is that for better or worse, CSA is the official body recognised by the Olympic Committee. Get rid of the lazy bastards in your provinces and get people in who can do the job properly.

To this guy it doesn't make any difference - I just hate having to beg, plead and threaten everytime I want to get paid.
