  1. Perhaps if Mr Bellairs spent less time doing a Tiger Woods, he would be able to find sponsors for the the Giro. He's a prime example of everything that's wrong with cycling in SA. Having said that the budget for the Tour of South Africa is considerably bigger than the Giro's - with all the publicity around the Tour of SA, isn't it disconcerting that no sponsors has been named? Seriously, if I was dropping a couple of mill into an event I would like my companies' name plastered all over the press releases. The only conclusion I can come to is that there is no sponsors yet.
  2. Duiwe se gat. As hulle 'n standbeeld van Julius daar sit sal EK op dit gaan ***.
  3. Cleanbottle - PM Latrinus - he's the local agent
  4. Let her do it. Then just arrive at the shoot with a machette, point it to the ex-boyfriend and leave. It's not about not trusting her - it's about not trusting him. If he's writting songs about her, clearly he's not over her.
  5. No Caerus - all it proves is that you have the power of hearing.
  6. For what it's worth I completed the survey. There are people at CSA who does a good job and cares about cycling. Unfortunately there's people there whose only mission is to enrich themselves, and sabotage things if they can't benefit. Another problem is that the board is making decisions, without anyone having the knowledge required to make such decisions.
  7. It's not plastic. It's silicone.
  8. There has been some sporadic DNS issues the last couple days - there's precious little that you will be able to do, other than waiting.
  9. It's probably just a folder permissions issue.

Our Saviour? You mean Lance Armstrong, right?
  11. It's a good strategy.... that way they can accept more bribes per car.
  12. Stomach in. Chest out. Bike missing?
  13. Well at least the address is right now. It was info@cycling.co.za for about 6 months - which doesn't belong to CSA, so some poor schmuck received a hole heap of pissed off emails for no reason. Hopefully they'll be able to fix all the broken links that's pointing to the old site before the 2020 Olympics. But don't hold your breath.
  14. I think he realised he's coaching the perennial wooden spoon winners of the Super 14, and stabbed himself.
  15. With all due respect, why is the CSA listening to the general cycling public, who in most cases, are weekend warriors? That's ridiculous. It's cause everything is a bloody democracy these days. Contact cyclist/coaches with national/international experience and formulate a proper plan around that. The plan doesn't have to be popular, it just needs to get results.
  16. At least with CSA you can see what your money has been spent on in their yearreport. At CGC on the other hand, money disappears, and the responsible person is then pardoned by the CGC president?
  17. Nothing to do with charity. A sanctioned event organiser is supposed to check all riders, and charge them day licenses if they're not licensed. Those fees are paid over to CSA (theoretically - a number of races keeps the money to build pools) If they're not santioned this year I have a sneaky suspicion that mtb plans to walk away from the CSA
  18. CSA sanctioning is given to races to ensure that the organisers stick to certain minimum requirements. There used to be requirements on the old csa site, but since the redesign you can't find anything on there. The big problem is that organiser aren't reported if the screw up, so they're given licenses year after year.
  19. The mess up with licensing and CGC is a result of CGC's refusal to use the myrace system. The reason? The myrace system incorporates a complete accounting package, so it's impossible for the people at CGC to divert funds towards building of swimming pools. CGC's access was actually revoked, if the rumors are to be believed. Now you have to ask, "Why would a organisation refuse to use a system where there is a complete audit trail?"
  20. So ask for their annual report. It was available for download the year before, so you can see exactly where you money is going.
  21. If you're a newbie on a forum you should shut up and listen, before sprouting your opinions. Now the Hub is a cakewalk compared to other forums - you can see that by people still being willing to register and ask questions. I'm on a forum with 700 members where the number of newbies that have registered in the last 10 years is probably less than 2 dozen. It's not that the people are rude, but a community builds up it's own personality, and it's very hard to get in. If you don't like it - leave - no community will change to accommodate you.
  22. I will rather pay more at my LBS than support Buycycle - who keeps spamming me, even though I didn't sign up for their newsletters.
  23. Pantone 389 C according to http://jagwireusa.com/images/uploads/2009_Jagwire_Industrial_Catalog.pdf
  24. Well if you spent more time cycling and less time riding you wouldn't be having any problems right now.
  25. The CSA is so full of politics, I can guarantee you that the Tour of South Africa will not take place next year.
