  1. I know Hanco, Tiaan and Michel du Toit (Colorpress Cyclingnews) are usually also there over December holidays.
  2. Fanie Fiets, we'll see you on the road I'm sure. Myself and Michael Robinson are going to Mosselbay and we often ride out in the Stilbaai direction.
  3. I was just wondering where all the different hubbers would be vacationing (and obviously training) throughout the holiday season? Whose going to the Mosselbay area?
  4. Hey Uncle Phil - Lekker bike Ry jy elite in Bloem die naweek?
  5. What age category does your son race in?
  6. Oh, okay - Sounds like a smart idea for training in a home swimming pool. The thing I'm talking about is a small pool with a machine rushing the water past the swimmers body at a set speed, and it has a couple of cameras fixed to observe the swimmers stroke from every angle. My brother is a swimmer, so will ask him if he knows anytihng about the 'harness'.
  7. I've heard of such a thing, but it's used for stroke correction, much like a wind tunnel, and not for training. However, there isn't one in SA.
  8. In my opinion, if he/she is winning races and doing well at a national level it would be a good indication of wether or not he/she is talented enough to be a South African pro and go overseas. You can also do all kinds of tests to determine their natural ability, by testing VO2 Max and power output. BUT, it's all relative.
  9. He's still very young - Even younger than Cunego. I heard he was leaving Quickstep because he felt it wasn't the right place for him. Or perhaps he's just following the recent fad of "let's not ride for a Pro Tour team" that seems to be pickig up
  10. Makes you think... It's always important to get your life in order, cause you never knoww when it might end. Pray he goes on to a better place.
  11. I think they have a 'bad english to english" function on www.freetranslations.com
  12. I have a set of these, are they recaled in SA aswell?

  14. Or perhaps better fit to be the secret weapon of Astana

  16. That's excellent news
  17. Daai frame lyk asof dit my size kan wees...
  18. Are they leaving Time for Specialized?
  19. I agree with Crux. Had I been Ivan Basso, I would also have traded in my Cervelo for one of those lovely new Cannondales
  20. And how is Quickstep losing out by this?
  21. I'll eat my saddle if Ivan Basso signs for Barloworld. Be realistic guys, this one just isn't happening.
  22. Thanks guys... Enjoy!
  23. I'm not going anymore - Have been going to fisio (i.e. torture) everyday for my back and they suggested that I don't race
  24. My parents made a bet with their friends at a New Year's party to do the Argus in '99. The next year I also went along, but wasn't really hooked until '01 when I did the licenced U14 race at the Sungardens Carousel Classic and finished third. I didn't really know that much about licenced racing so I got disqualified for having the wrong clothes and stuff, but soon sorted that out and started racing competetively. The rest is history. My parents and brother still do the Argus every year but they only train from January and my sister mountainbikes about once every two or three months.
  25. Probably around may next year.
