  1. The roadie quip was just a dig at roadies- I didn't make it a problem of one group- he was on a road bike...
  2. Pineapple!! How rude Next thing you'll tell me there was spinach involved...
  3. There is always one person on the hub that will try and take a topic and make an arguement or point out of it. I could say I was wearing protective eyewear - Maybe I wasn't... That has nothing to do with the OP...
  4. There is always one...
  5. Well - now that I have everyones back up (except the mtb'ers)... This morning at 07:00 whilst driving home from squash - I rode past some roadie probably in his 50's riding on Michelle Avenue (JHB South) which is a very busy road - WITHOUT a helmet!! I think he's mad - does he not hear about all the cycling deaths or perhaps he thinks he is taxi / car / bus / truck proof..??..
  6. Is it SRAM at fault, or the lbs for not following up on the sale? Quite often the lbs won't play their part when it's small stuff...which is of course nonsense as they could lose a customer that way... Try another shop - and mention that you'd spoken to the rep...
  7. Go Carbon - Don't worry about falling & hitting trees...I do that on a weekly basis and both my carbon frames have stood up to the torture... As for saving weight... Lose the camel back
  8. That sucks!!!
  9. Surely you could contact the bank and they should have a fraud division that can try catch these guys?? It should be in their best interest to nail the f7ckers...
  10. my bad... rietvlei would have been perfect...bloody road running through it now messes everything up!!
  11. 2200 Come on guys - this is for a good cause - lets get the bids going again this morning...
  12. They kinda peeted out... I think a couple guys still go, but nothing organized... Hopefully I'm mistaken though... Pm Wendel and ask him
  13. Anton @ Summit Cycles has gone out of his way in the past to get stuff for me... His store is packed with Spez - give him a try...
  14. +1 Paul is the man
  15. @ Wendell I'm sure most people know that you are not involved with the shop... As we discussed - it's a pity you can't have a few tables outside on the grass by your enterance..Selling muffins & coffee... Maybe show the owner these comments posted above and give her a wakeup call...
  16. Dude- I take new riders to rietvlei all the time and whenever they suggest coffee I always tell them how rubbish the service is. I will not support them as they are useless-not idea of customer service! The owner/managers don't seem to care much though...
  17. Carbon all the way!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Even if it does crack - it's easy to get repaired...
  18. Good topic - any hubbers with info? Bump
  19. I'm not trying to argue - but just because they say that doesn't mean they do it...(testing) The Chinese are known to cut corners to keep costs to a minimum. I would like to hear from other Hubbers what Chinarellos they have (road & mtb)- maybe that will convince myself & more Hubbers to try that avenue. Most of us would like to save a bit and be able to buy more bling...
  20. I'm known to have a good few lie downs every now and then...so my main question would be... If the Chinarellos aren't an established international brand, what guarantee do you have that they are made properly? Ie. the carbon is woven properly or the correct number of layers. I wouldn't want the front section to give way on me...owwwww...
  21. Thaba trails & Rietvlei - both in JHB south... You'll be hard pressed to beat the quality on offer at both of these centers... From novice to advanced trails at both
