  1. Ouch. Agreed on the order of caution though. Taxis' aren't really an issue, they do their own thing.
  2. Agreed with buying normal bike, but make sure you get a woman specific saddle.
  3. Or any other time of the month either.
  4. Or just lean with your shoulder against the wall... Saved me a couple of times.
  5. 1.) Are these bad for your wheels? (does it eat the rubber off quickly?) - Not in my experience, because you tend to weave a little it doesn't get that hot, I think.. 2.) Can you really stand and pedal on them like Tacx claims? Has anyone hubber done it before? - Done it, but don't jump out of the saddle and sprint, take it slowly. 3.) Is it easy to TT on them? I wanna lean forward but am scared shitless as it stands now... - Probably. Haven't tried this.
  6. It was on an uphill, i wasn't going more than 13km/h. She turned to look in my direction and proceeded to stand her ground. Once I was laying on the ground spread eagled, I heard her saying:"Oh my.." She still didn't move.
  7. That old ladies standing by the side of a bus stop will ignore your calls to move.. I have the blood dripping down my leg to prove it.
  8. Nope. No UST. Still considering it, will be a ghetto setup though. This mornings' commute went through without a hitch loving it. Have to upgrade brakes from stock though, had a downhill where I was admiring scenary instead of watching the road, when I had to brake there wasn't nearly enough stopping power. My weight + laptop + clothes + a bloody 4kg chain that lives at work now..
  9. Try using AIM BarleyLife, I've been using it for 2 years and haven't gotten sick in that time - except when I forget to buy some.
  10. I realized this morning that my pump is waaaayyyyy too small for 29er wheels. Thinking of carrying floorpump with.
  11. Will add my stories shortly. Starting to commute from next week
  12. Nice 'stache
  13. Wouldn't the 10spd chain mess it all up? I am looking at upgrading my 9spd setup to better quality 9spd drivetrain and wasn't even looking at 10 speed gear.
  14. I did send iCycle a mail, but no response so far, where as all the rest have gotten back to me. MiWay lost out due their admin fees being higher than the premium..
  15. That is who my house + contents are insured through. However, they won't cover bikes in transit or at races. So they didn't crack the nod. Have a filled out application ready to bomb off to pedalcycle insurance. They broker though pedalsure it seems, but their service was good.
  16. Bought a buzzrack in the last two weeks.. Not really keen on buying another rack Have an idea though, If successful, I might market it here for others to either copy or buy.
  17. Ran into an obstacle. I have the Buzzrack beetle, that attaches to your vehicle with straps. Insurance requires this to be secured to your car to be able to claim, how on earth would you secure this?
  18. I don't have a problem with that rule. Surely if they don't have anyone can just chuck their bike and claim insurance?
  19. Took the chance, sent them a mail now.
  20. I have sent MiWay a request now, don't know about that i-cycleinsurance, do you have any personal experience? Their website looks dodge, and I don't to claim only to find they are semi-bankrupt..
  21. What is the best cycling insurance? I can add my bikes to my home + contents policy, but then they won't be covered when in transit or during competitions. I would really like them to be covered whenever.. I have contacted cyclesure, and they seem to be quite good. Anyone else I should consider?
  22. Pop into Metro Cycles and have a look, they have a quite a variety.
  23. Agreed. Go to Linden. Bought a new bike there as well this weekend, not a Merida, a GT, but awesome shop.
  24. Best bet would be to take the bike for a spin I'd say. Recently bought a small bike for my and she was on the edge of medium/small, test ride sorted that out.
  25. What about mounting one on the top tube with the nozzle facing upwards, connecting it to a timing mechanism that gets activated once you pull some sort of connection.. In other words, bad guy grabs you, pushes you off the bike, connection gets severed, 2min count down begins, crook gets sprayed..
