  1. Wasn't someone selling hydraulic rim brakes recently? EDIT: Found it https://www.bikehub.co.za/classifieds/58070-magura-hydraulic-rim-brakes/
  2. Who fired shots? Glad you're ok.
  3. Thank you!
  4. I met a fellow forumite this morning on the spruit and decided we should contact each other on the forum to arrange a ride for next weekend or similar, however, I never got round to giving my forum name, and now it seems I heard his wrong - he said it was something along the lines of S-mafia, not picking it up on the members list. Anyone perhaps know of a forumite with a similar name? He rides a carbon Jamis and lives toward Northcliff - won't post his real name here as I think that wouldn't be appropriate. Please help.

  6. When you say August, do you mean Argus?
  7. So I don't know if anyone has asked this before, but gogle didn't give me nay results. So my bicycle has schrader valves, my car has schrader valves. You get those puncture and inflator cans for cars in most hardware stores - is this a viable alternative for riding with slime and bombs? Can you not use those to patch and inflate your tyre/tube?
  8. Half arsed advertising attempts tend to go off the rail and work against you. Rather publish all the details at once and take it from there.
  9. + 1 to linden and for the internet making non LBS a LBS use evobikes. Only a pleasure thus far. Welcome to JHB, feel free to check out the bicycle insurance thread as well.
  10. Doing first one after 8 years break. Doing both MTB and road, started training a month back still as fit as a new born baby. Looking forward to the cramps.
  11. I'll climb on board this rave train. Ordered a part, they didn't have in stock but gave me my choice of alternative parts which cost 4x as much.
  12. Ouch. Agreed on the order of caution though. Taxis' aren't really an issue, they do their own thing.
  13. Agreed with buying normal bike, but make sure you get a woman specific saddle.
  14. Or any other time of the month either.
  15. Or just lean with your shoulder against the wall... Saved me a couple of times.
  16. 1.) Are these bad for your wheels? (does it eat the rubber off quickly?) - Not in my experience, because you tend to weave a little it doesn't get that hot, I think.. 2.) Can you really stand and pedal on them like Tacx claims? Has anyone hubber done it before? - Done it, but don't jump out of the saddle and sprint, take it slowly. 3.) Is it easy to TT on them? I wanna lean forward but am scared shitless as it stands now... - Probably. Haven't tried this.
  17. It was on an uphill, i wasn't going more than 13km/h. She turned to look in my direction and proceeded to stand her ground. Once I was laying on the ground spread eagled, I heard her saying:"Oh my.." She still didn't move.
  18. That old ladies standing by the side of a bus stop will ignore your calls to move.. I have the blood dripping down my leg to prove it.
  19. Nope. No UST. Still considering it, will be a ghetto setup though. This mornings' commute went through without a hitch loving it. Have to upgrade brakes from stock though, had a downhill where I was admiring scenary instead of watching the road, when I had to brake there wasn't nearly enough stopping power. My weight + laptop + clothes + a bloody 4kg chain that lives at work now..
  20. Try using AIM BarleyLife, I've been using it for 2 years and haven't gotten sick in that time - except when I forget to buy some.
  21. I realized this morning that my pump is waaaayyyyy too small for 29er wheels. Thinking of carrying floorpump with.
  22. Will add my stories shortly. Starting to commute from next week
  23. Nice 'stache
  24. Wouldn't the 10spd chain mess it all up? I am looking at upgrading my 9spd setup to better quality 9spd drivetrain and wasn't even looking at 10 speed gear.
  25. Pop into Metro Cycles and have a look, they have a quite a variety.
