I did the TR29-25 rim swap from my standard Merida 19 or 20mm rims and using an Ardent 2.4 up front and Ardent 2.25 rear.
It helped stop the tyre from folding under when running low pressures especially in front and gave me more confidence to attack the corners!
The tyres have a nice round profile. I think any wider would be over kill...
I know you are talking about the older generation of Sora but the new R3000 range is really neat and if you didn't look at the actual name you would easily mistake it for the higher end stuff
Have people started receiving their black Friday packages yet?
Ordered on Thursday and received a notification that my payment was approved but yet to be notified that my order is being actioned.
I understand they're extremely busy. Just trying to get an idea of what the waiting time is more or less.
Placed on Thursday and received this morning
Was just about to log onto the Dawnwing site and the phone rang....super chuffed
I feel your pain with keeping up
My wife's first bike was a 27.5 and mine was a 29r. Due to the smaller wheel size I obviously got a little further per peddle stroke but when we upgraded to full sussers last year and she went up to a 29r she was right on my back side
It's now changed around again cause I have gotten fitter and stronger over the past year
You will get there
As long as you have enough gears for climbing with the selected ratio's you will be fine. Use the down hills for resting so you can give it horns on the next uphill
I am 116kg's and don't need to peddle on the down hills as gravity gives me all the speed I need.
My top speed on my MTB at the 947 was 70KM/H and that was just free-wheeling from the top of whatever hill!
Obviously I needed to bend down and tuck-in as much as possible because my long body creates loads of drag which acts like an air-brake. I even passed a few roadies that were peddling
CWC - Do any of your Shimano 1x11 upgrade kits (SLX or XT) have an iSpec-B shifter as an option?
I doubt it. Most are I spec II in the groupset deals. The upgrades kits that just have the cassette, derailleur, chain and shifter have the clamp type!
Just used to 3x10 set-up. the36-26 with 11-42 too slow on the downhills and too little control on the heavy long climbs.
Well then you need to stay with 3x10 if it is that big a problem....otherwise you will need to come to a compromise. What bike do you have any what is your weight?
I have 36-26 in front. What is the biggest and smallest combination I can go in front?
As per the other thread you have going, what are you wanting to achieve?
The more information you supply the more accurate the feedback!
Simple answer no ,
10 speed had different size FD cage so it worked but in 11 speed they made the cage shorter so its can only handle a 10 tooth drop on the front,
it will not pickup well from the small blade as the chain wont line up with the inner pickups as well as the chain will drag over the bottom end of the FD cage when in the small blade and lower down on the cassette .
However its worth a try .
Thought there was a reason why but could not figure it out and it makes sense.
He might get away with it if he uses an older and longer cage derailleur....if it works great, if not let us know but why mess around? Just use as intended to avoid the frustration
Still no Reba 120
Check in the Black Friday only list and not the shocks section. I have noticed a few items not listed under the specific heading but are in the deals list...
Tell us what you are trying to achieve? You looking for a setup with high top end speed that will climb a vertical wall?
The no-level 2x10 I had before going 1x11 was 36-22 so you should not have a problem.
I honestly think you will have all you need with a 36-26 with the 11-42!
36 - 11 should easily give you around 50+km/h on a flat...on a 29r
26 - 42 is also plenty for climbing
Black Friday deals load line by line after clicking "load more"....really wish they would sort this out so the entire list loads at once
...and this after clicking "View all featured products"
I remember seeing an overseas site earlier in the year doing a test with the 11-46 cassette and they mentioned that they got away with the medium cage BUT this was a 1x11 setup. The limit is 42 on 2x11 setups!
Why would you want to use an 11-46 with a 2x11 setup? You should have more than enough to climb with a 2x11 cause the chainring usually goes down to a 22 or 24 tooth!
It is designed for 1x11...
because people give them things. They should stop. Honestly. Like there should actually be a clause in the Ts&Cs of races that you don't throw sweets or whatevers to kids. Cause I only see this getting worse not better.
There is a clause like this with Berg and Bush. If I remember correctly you are fined or DQ'd if caught!
While you are at it....do both rims!!! You will be happy you did!
There is a reason the 2018 sparks have 25mm id rims ...it's the future
Not running you down....just having fun with the situation ...while we wait
Bump....
When/if it comes back online....don't think I am going to tell anyone
"45 minutes" in IT is 4 hours in real time.
The guys must be sweating....it's the virtual equivalent of us all being in front of the shop doors waiting impatiently for them to open....a virtual stampede
it amazes me that the OP asked the reason for punctures and people respond that they didn't get punctures.
It's fine, every little bit of info helps no matter which side of the question it falls on
Brad Potgieter (pro for RoadCover) got a puncture 15k from the end (or so says his Strava). I reckon they ride tubbies, so take your pick what it might be.
Oke that rode with us in A got a front wheel puncture while we were going at least 38-40kph along the highway. Needless to say he fell, hard. Thankfully no one followed him. Are you OK if you're reading this?
eina!!! Yeah hope he is ok but I can only imagine how it feels to fall on tar at that speed.....I just hope it stays like that
