  1. Great thread 'Dale and visibility is crucial for the cyclists out there. I am guilty of wearing a black jacket when riding some intervals in the late evening. If the opportunity arises to get another jacket, I'll make sure it is a vibrant colour and also have reflective strips. Fortunately, my front and rear light I believe is very good quality. My rear light has a nice random flickering mode which would draw the attention of the motorist that I am also on the road. My trusty Specialized shoes also have reflective strips at the back of both shoes. Be seen, be safe!
  2. And your username is Vetseun... Pfttt! Superb riding.
  3. Haha, same here!
  4. Same here, I am using an IceToolz workstation pump, but every time I pump my tyres according to the PSI/bar on the gauge, my friend tells me my tyres are way too hard.

  6. Totally agree with you, they are quite expensive, but a very well know brand in the UK (like you stated). A cool feature of the above one is you have to ability to run 27.5, 27.5+ (if I am not mistaken) and 29" wheels. They also have a unique geometry.
  7. How's the wear on the Vittoria Barzo on the road? I use my bike to commute on a daily short distance (4km in total), riding road loops and going to the local farms. CWC is having a nice price on them and maybe considering getting one.

  9. Can I call you 'Dad'? Will your son be riding the Bloemendal Spur Race? If so, I need to bring my camera to take a new pic of him on his new steed!
  10. 100% agree with you there Ben! I am very impressed with them, currently 2,300km on both (swapped the front to the back & the back to front recently for a longer lifetime out of the tyres). Wear on the road is also very good. I did almost 700km of just road loops in one month and the tyres remained perfect. I am also used to the tyres on my bike, so I know where the limits are. They are great tyres! EDIT: I am a noob. My friend mentioned that he meant it won't fit in the rear but will work up front. Ai, André.
  11. I'll contact my friend again. Would be great putting that 2.35 rubber up front. Thanks for the help guys!
  12. Not at all, my friend is chilled and he approached me with the offer. I am running a Rockshox Reba RLT QR.
  13. Myles, I know the Ikon is a problem up front. That tyre doesn't have that much grip. I'll try the lowered pressure up front and rear later the week if I get time. I also experienced a lot of hopping around when riding (probably because of tyres being too hard) compared to my friend who did not hop around and was more smoothly on the bike. I wanted to swap out my Ikon with an Ardent Race 2.35, sadly it does not fit on my Scale according to my friend who I wanted to trade with. I was pretty sad afterwards.
  14. Hope you broke some downhill PRs. 1 by is life!
  15. Thanks, @RiverInTheRoad. Will give it a go.
  16. Running Ikons 2.2 both front and rear on my Scale 940. Had a mini crash (front wheel slipped out on the dry trail) past Wednesday and I suspect the front tyre is too hard. I am running 1.8 bar front and 2.0 bar rear. I like to corner quite hard and have experienced my front wheel sliding especially at the bits where there are small rocks lying in the berm/turn. I don't want to go too low and risk in burping my front tyre. I weigh 60kg. What pressure would you guys recommend?
  17. Love the frame colour and blackout stanchions!
  18. Was a very successful Saturday with the SportsWorld Crew! http://i.imgur.com/QMB2jHH.jpg Beautiful couple. http://i.imgur.com/tSLtX2Q.jpg Need to get that bike shot, hey? Unfortunately, my first attempt was a fail... I placed the bike and just when I wanted to capture the bike, the bike fell over damaging my top tube nearest to the seat post. http://i.imgur.com/j6l8UKI.jpg Simply my favourite shot of the day. I love the atmosphere in this photo. This is too my new wallpaper currently. http://i.imgur.com/YopbeIX.jpg Amazing day to be on the trails! http://i.imgur.com/2z324zm.jpg Bombing it down. http://i.imgur.com/Xjigd5N.jpg Need to capture a pic of Brandon's new bike. http://i.imgur.com/GokNzSg.jpg Dorstberg never disappoints. Will need to work on my pacing going up. Was nice meeting 'Dale! PC: Dennis Lamminga http://i.imgur.com/z9vfAF5.jpg One of the work requirements: You need to be able to wheelie without one hand.
