  3. Hi, I'm trying to ascertain what the ideal power to weight ratio for my PPA group should be, so I can determine how far off I am. It would useful to know what PPA group some of the hubbers ride in and what their power to weight ratio is.
  4. Phil Ligget was making a comment when he was out here. What he said was the reason why cycling is so big in this country is because the way it is structured Apparently cycling is bigger here than in Europe. The mix of "pros" and funriders conributes to the big turnout at cycling events. If the "Pros" are complaining get CSA to set up their own race calendar and leave the PPA to run the funrides. I bet the "Pro circuit" won't last very long

  7. Heart rate is subjective and can be influenced by the environment. It could just as easily have been the weather.

  10. If one buys the Edge 500 from chainreactioncycles, I assume one cannot send it to a local agent for repairs. Also there a numerous reports on the web about the screen being difficult to read. I read the comments on this thread that it is not the case. Can anyone back this up?

  12. There would be. Better power to mass ratio will help your climbing. But would this weight suit you? When last did you weigh 77kg. My point is, surely as cyclist there must be a fine balance in terms of weight we would like to be (considering our age) and what is a healthy norm. Without dissing Fundacious, I mean 64kg@ 1.84m!!!

  14. Ironically Im 1.86m and weigh exactly 77kg. What are you saying? Echoing Mapara's sentiments, geez you must be pretty lean. I dropped to my lowes weight in 15 years for this years Argus at 81kg. My freinds and family thought I looked anorexic LOL
  15. Hi, I'm looking to purchase a HRM capable of measuring cadence. Based on all the complaints on this forum about the service received from Polar makes we wander.   16. Hi On the issue around body weight. Surely the physiology of a person would determine whether they will be a good cyclist or not. I'm 1.87m tall and if I allow my body weight to drop below 77kg I will look ridiculous So your height really determines how much weight you could afford to lose. I've noticed quite a few of the elites weighing <70kg Was wandering whether any cyclist has done a sub 3 Argus weighing > 80kg

  18. Maybe we should have given them some more time to post the results. Perhaps they were under pressure to run the seedings and as a result came up with some concocted formula
  19. I suggest you guys go to the racetec web site and take a snapshot of your existing results. The way they handling this issue I woudn't be suprised if data gets deleted in the process!

  23. It's a damn disgrace that the poor telephone operators at the PPA office have to constantly deal with irate PPA members. Why shield inept officials. Publicise the names and contact details of the person responsible for this debacle so that we may contact them directly. Why use Racetec as an excuse. It's the duty of the PPA to ensure that service level agreements get fulfilled
