  1. Contact Garmin if you haven't found the owner yet. They are very helpful in contacting the owner (if the device is registered/linked to an account).
  2. You can also look at the Garmin Varia. Slightly on the expensive side (relative I guess), but great visibility and you have the added benefit of radar prompting you when something is approaching from behind.
  3. You type 8 and rotate it 90 degrees 🙈
  4. I'd love to take it off your hands, but I'd need to borrow your bike too 😬
  5. I found a computer just before Simonstown. Hopefully the owner is on the hub. I'll give the manufacturer a call today - hopefully they can link the device to the owner.
  6. 🤣 Was this the guy on Suikerbossie? I remember someone making the comment - "If you thought it was subtle... It wasnt!" Almost rolled my bike laughing 😆
  7. Unfortunate. That rain / wind combo was not fun! I can deal with one at a time - both is too cold 😆
  8. Thought I'd start this as it seems that many people lost equipment on the route. Post here - maybe you're lucky and someone took the time to stop and pick it up.
  9. I usually follow the "weather stone" approach - I've found it to be the most accurate source:
  10. Thanks for sharing your experience. That was my plan - taking it as easy as possible. At the moment I'm drugging up and sleeping / lying in front of the TV - rinse repeat. Also hydrating and eating regularly (can't hurt with the recovery process). If I feel fine I'll look at doing a short / easy spin a week before CTCT and decide where to go from there.
  11. Woke up feeling bad yesterday - worsened as the day went on. One rapid test later - Covid positive... I'm man down today. The timing seriously sucks! Stupid virus!
  12. I'll also help 😁 I'll be on a Black/Blue/Green Giant
  13. Shot in the dark - if you want to query your seeding, where do you direct this to? Racetec? Has anyone on hub-land done this before? Asking for my father in-law. He is not happy being pushed to the Open groups, this being his 20th CTCT.
  14. Haha, just got mine too - joining you in & 😁
  15. Nice! Both looking forward and dreading it 😆 That's if my seeding works out. It's going to be a great race, regardless.
  16. Wonder what happened to the 30-39 "Racing Age Group" 🤔
  17. I'd seriously consider one for that price! I have an Edge 520 plus and a very old Suunto Ambit2 - I think a watch upgrade is in my near future 😁
  18. I'm sort of with you on that! Was well on my way to my first ever sub 3 when a faulty bead on my rear tyre ensured a first ever DNF ???? It was about 1km before Camps Bay - I was not impressed! I guess it's a tick off the list... Next year will be sub 3 and double loop. The tribe has spoken ????

I'll drop this here: 2021 Ride Joburg - Bikehub seeding list Add your name under the relevant starting group (Select a sheet at the bottom if your group is not on the first page). Maybe add your total number completed in brackets behind your name so @JJDT can tally up the totals ???? Maybe we can use this to form Bikehub pelotons ????

Just to clarify something (not sure if it has been mentioned): The racing categories are grouped by age. I.E VA = 30-34, VB = 35-39 and so on. So it will be the top seeded x amount of people per age group competing against each other.
  22. So, this is as good a time as any to ask... Will they allow us to print our race numbers?
  23. 'Dale.... Are you the Assos man? ????
