Thanks for the input everyone ???? We're mid 30's, so don't think age should be a problem yet. I'm in IT (I see lots of positions available on LinkedIn) and my wife is a GP. So far it looks like she will struggle a bit more as she has exams etc to complete before she can start looking for work. This process is also not that straight forward (unless we are over complicating it). I'll get cracking on the documentation and start reaching out to companies and people.

Hello All My wife and I have been toying with the idea of moving to NZ for a while now. Long story short - our timing was a little off with the whole pandemic thing, but we’re “slowly” getting everything together and will hopefully be joining the expat list sooner rather than later. I guess I’m giving a little “heads up”. Apparently networking is the name of the game, so I’m starting off in the hobby forum. Any stories / advice you can share is welcome. I can't believe I'm going to miss this... I'm heading back to GP 1 week before the event ???? I've downloaded the routes. Can one ride the entire route before the event date without upsetting farmers/locals?

Aim for sub 7 - You'll be grand

Some clarity from someone who was close by when it happened. I can confirm that this was exactly where the incident occurred. A friend, my wife and I were getting ready in the open parking on HP Rd side. Around 5:20am we heard - what sounded like - a car crashing into a barrier and what we thought was a bicycle falling off a bike rack. We looked up and to our horror noticed that it must have been a cyclist that was hit as there were no signs of the car slowing down. It was still quite dark out and by the time we realized what had happened, the car was long gone. My friend ran towards the scene and my wife called the emergency number printed on our race numbers. We also rushed to the scene. The ambulance arrived within minutes and they rushed him to hospital. As far as witnesses are concerned - there were very few people around as it was still quite early and at that point in time there were also no other vehicles that we noticed traveling in either direction. Our statements were taken by race officials and it seems the matter is being taken very seriously. Our sincerest condolences to the family. They are in our prayers. May he rest in piece.
