  1. Yip, also short one - will get do the long one after I try the shorty out!
  2. hI Guys Anyone else doing the warrior race on Saturday? Will be doing my first one, busy training for Xterra Knysna in July, so thought this would be a good event to do to get ready. should be fun!
  3. One tough race, but super fun stuff
  4. I would suggest testing it before greyton on the weekend - go for a short decent ride (at least 10km) after repairing - you don't want a nasty surprise when you go out for a long ride on the weekend. you can also take it a shop and ask them to assist you, so that you at least know how to do it correctly..
  5. SCOTT SCALE 920 @ R21 000 1x MEDIUM at hotspot cycles, a bit more than your budget, but try and stretch it...
  6. DAVE MATHEWS BAND TICKETS - Woohoo
  7. Not sure if this has been posted yet? http://www.chainreactionhub.com/road/873-shimano-launch-ultegra-6800-groupset
  8. why not try them out for yourself and make up your own opinion, love my esi grips.. don't ever sniff my handlebars, so not sure if they smell ;-)
  9. Smash it - enjoyable ride, gonna be over before you know it though - start close to the front, if you are strong, just hold on to the bunch, its open and can be pretty gusty, so try stick to the bunch - lots of flat wide open dirt roads.
  10. Where all the haters at this morning?
  11. That's pretty
  12. Dude - I wasn't moaning, I was asking a question regarding the etiquette, I got my answer and confirmation of what I thought it was, next time I will be more forceful.. I prefer not being the **** causing crap in the bunch without having my facts straight...
  13. I asked the dude to move over and stick to the wheel on the left and told him he is pushing me offline, but he responded with "dude, its my line"! I felt my blood beginning to boil, so decided to be the better person and just leave it, wasn't in the mood to get into it with someone on a Saturday morning on my bike
  14. a bit aggressive tactics those, but I agree with the principle (mtb part especially) ;-)
  15. Problem is the end of the segment is about 10 meters past my car, so he didn't even get his KOM, all pain - no gain ;-)
  16. Dude was Obviously a newbie trolly racer!
  17. talking about the road and who belongs where.. For those of you that know Cliffendale drive in Faerie glen, you may understand... was on my way to work and stopped at the circle which comes from old farm road to go left into cliffendale and I see this vagrant come racing down the road sitting on one of those flatbed trolley things (used for moving), the hill is crazy steep and the dude was FLYING down the road totally out of control, it was too late to do anything and the dude smashed into the front right of my car. he hit face first into the my car, luckily he went into the wheel, else there would have been bad damage to my car.. I jump out and the dude start crying ( I think he thought I was going to moer him), his face is full of blood, mouth cut, blood streaming out of both nostrils.. luckily my car was ok, else I would have been seriously upset, I try to explainto the guy that he is crazy and stupid for using his trolly as a form of transport down a crazy steep street in early morning traffic - but he didn't seem to understand.. now HE doesn't belong on the road..
  18. no harm - just thought you had it in for me ;-)

  20. That's a bit arb..
  21. Excuse my ignorance chaps - but since when is it illegal to jog on the side of the road. We have always been taught to run (and walk) facing oncoming traffic??
  22. I had a R1800.00 service before the Sani, so was super miff with all the mud.. managed to service my BB30 bearings and my Freehub bearings and all good as new, the bearings were totally seized after the race.. you don’t always need to replace the bearings, a good clean out in Paraffin and some new grease and the bearings can be running smooth again.. best thing is to learn to do everything yourself.. I get a major service with Philip Buys mechanic once a year just to ensure i haven’t destroyed anything and the rest of the time i don’t it all myself..
  23. You and the OP must get together - will make a nice couple...
  24. I ride mostly Mtb, but got a road bike to mix it up a bit, its great cross training due to intense riding the whole way, pedalling uphill, downhill and flats - basically all the time - I generally like riding in the bunch. its a nice dynamic that most people seem to get..
