  1. This post comes at the perfect time. I've been wanting to cancel dstv but the only reason for keeping it is Supersport. Not keen on pirate sights so wondered what alternatives there are for cycling and rugby. Have netflix so movies and series sorted. Feels like I'm throwing money away with dstv just just for supersport
  2. Have you been using it for a while? Same thing happened to me with garmin strap and edge520. Heard somewhere about salt build up from sweat being an issue. Gave the strap a good wash and it's worked for 3 rides now. Not sure if its the main issue but it's working for now. Funny cause I never had this issue with my wahoo strap
  3. Gonna be a nice one ????
  4. Sorry to hear. Strength and peace to you and your family mate..prayers are with you all
  5. thanks - now that i recall i was using both at the time so you are spot on.
  6. thanks - so there seems to be some workaround options i could try for the 2 workouts not recorded on the device. going forward probably easier to continue recording on both the device and zwift which is a duplication but it is what it is i suppose.......the things we do for vitality points!
  7. apologies for reviving this thread but quick question (next step will be to contact discovery vitality). sometime ago -probably about 2 months ago- i noticed that i received points for a zwift workout. i was surprised as i didnt even think that this would, but then i figured its because my zwift account is connected to Garmin connect and Garmin to discovery app. this week i didn't turn on my garmin device for the past 2 zwift workouts (didnt have device with me) but thought nothing of it as i thought it will be uploaded from zwift to garmin connect to discovery app as it did before. unfortunately it didnt work this time though. a quick google search back to 2018 seems to suggest that your activity must be recorded on a garmin device and then uploaded to garmin connect (which seems like BS to me as i'm still going through garmin connect just not through my device but through zwift). Was my previous experience a glitch? Or do others use the zwift to garmin connect route for points?

yep, so true.....see them all the time. 'snakes in suits' - scary thing is many are high flyers and come across as likable when they need to be if it helps them achieve their own goals....but....they do things to get to the top that most 'normal folks' will consider unethical. many of them sleep okay at night where many of us ordinary folks would go crazy with guilt! but they say karma is a b**%tch.....what goes around
  9. Wow, thanks for detailed reply grease monkey. You okes are kwaai lol...best getting advice from objective okes who actually use the stuff. I'm gonna go with ardent 2.4 in exo casing as you suggest for now and perharps get dhr2 for more aggressive stuff down the line. Not doing any really aggressive routes at the moment.
  10. Sorry for lack of info...clearly don't know my sh@* I ride rocky Mountain element DS. I ride More for distance and speed but want to feel secure in turns (so some grip). Don't do heavy technical dh type riding - .I pick lines but may bomb through some rocky descents....but not in a wreckless way. Oh I do commute to work perhaps twice per week and choose between mtb and road depending on how I feel. About 168 height and 73kg.
  11. Thanks in advance ????????
  12. Apologies if I seem lazy for not doing research myself. But you okes seem to be REALLY knowledgeable about tire combs. Perhaps I can leverage off some wisdom. Had to buy maxis ardent race 2.35 for my rear wheel kinda out of desperation and lbs recommendation as I had to sort my wheel on short notice and the lbs had limited range. Need to replace front tire asap. What tire would you recommend up front? I ride typical/popular CT trails (Durbanville, table mtn, greyton, okay valley etc)
  13. Did the 45 with the Mrs for training for her...was generally well organised although maybe some security at certain spots. Some suspect ouens at 1 or 2 spots.... the type u know r looking to catch on k@k..had to slow down to help some ladies who felt uncomfortable Was fun riding in short distance for a change....was sick past week so lekker z2 training ride
  14. Couldn’t agree more.....twice....and in a dangerous way. P’d me off big time
  15. Strength to those guys. Passed a porcupine and buddy saw a snake....part of the risk riding in a nature reserve. Was good fun though ????
  16. now that you mention it.....????
  17. My wife witnessed the 'incident' too. Dude got stuck and spun mud all over your car. When you left it reminded me of ace ventura who had to ride with his head out the side window to see ???? All in all it must have been quite a day for you ????????????????
  18. Lotsa mud....lots...but beautiful trails and well organized event...it didn't dissapoint ????
  19. Hi guys, Thanks for the help with my cadence/power issue. It helped. Another unrelated question. My wife has started enjoying zwift so she's keen on signing up. Is there any way we can share my subscription or is there some family type package. Gonna be expensive if each family member needs to open their own account. Google search shows some talk about it back in 2016. Will contact them as well.
  20. Thanks, will give this a go
  21. Not sure if this has been raised before. Sorry if it did. Whilst in workout and erg mode one should not in theory change gears....just keep at the prescribed cadence (btw the cadence on zwift VS Garmin does not always correspond neatly i.e.mostly out by a few rpm about 5 or below). If I keep at the prescribed cadence I dont reach the power target (perhaps 5 to 10 watts below). Am I doing something wrong? Does it matter? I realize that the taxc vortex I have will not provide 100% accuracy. Just hope I'm not doing anything wrong though I
  22. Great event, especially considering for those not too concerned about racing... how can u with that well stocked water points ???? Agree, registration was confusing but still didnt take away from a really fun day in the saddle ????
  23. Thanks LeoKnight???? Not sure about route back to finish but you might be right
  24. Guys,I might not be looking properly but where will I find starting times for different groups? I'm doing 75km and a buddy the 50km The ppa site just says 7h30...is that applicable to all?
