cruised the neighbourhood in the mid 80's on my Kuwahara BMX... got a Peugeot Mirage in high school, but didnt really take to road cycling then!!! 20 years later, if i dont get 10 hours a week in the saddle i freak out!!!

giant seem to always be the leaders in inovation.... eg. compact frames, ISP etc?? and their inovations arn't gimicks, the other manufacturers all eventually follow!!!

i heard on the news yesterday that a taxi driver was given 12 years behind bars for running over a 16 year old girl on a scooter.. obviously he was found to be wreckless... i agree, if the media do publish this kind of road accident info, then people will have more respect for pedestrians / cyclist / other road users...

and in 3 years time... when everybody is on 29er,,, someone will win the world cup on a 26 hardtail!!!!

i wanted to moer a few cyclists last saturday..... they were coming to the end of their ride, and were spead out all over the road as they approached the shopping centre meeting point... i was riding alone, and caught up to them at this point... sadly i was obviously viewed as one of their group... their behavior was discusting, they had no regard for the motorists around them.. infact the motorists were very patient with them.. these were 40 - 50 year old, "company director" type cyclist, who loaded their bikes onto some very expensive cars... including a black SUV!!!! sad...

there is an easier way... unfortunately it doesn't help with the outstanding amount.. but next time he (or anyone that generally pays late) buys, put a 30% settlement discount on the amount. ie. if the goods are R70, charge him R100 less 30% for prompt payment!!! you can decide what you think is prompt payment!!?? if he's late you take extra 30%!!??

i think Bolt is clean, and Lance is clean!!! the media would just love to find something on them,, and if there was even a rumbling about either one, they would jump on it and eat them alive... !!! media stands to make too much money out of a story like that.... if there was a suspect sample, they wouldnt be able to cover it up... its the old story "if you want to keep a secret between 3 people, you have to kill 2 of them!!!!

torque bolts correctly and alway check your skewers.... its always the skewers!!!!????

i gave old Peugeot Mirage to my gardener ,, and one day he came to me holding his "package"... tells me he cant ride uphill because of the chain??? so i took the bike for a spin up the road, and also can back holding my "crown jewels"... apparently the chain can skip on the chainrings!!! P.S. it was the same chain + chainrings from 1987!!

that solves that... keep 7800 together, its the best!!!! next questions is what frame would be an upgrade for a TCR composite 07... its been an awsome bike??? Level of racing = 2hour20 for 94.7and 2hour39 Amashova!! Scott vs Giant vs specialized vs celvelo vs???

thanks... my 7800 is absolately mint condition, so probably waste of money.... rather put that toward a 2010 frame to satisfy this itch in need to scratch!!!! but still interested to know about the brakes... i also read that there is some complication!!!

Do you have to run 7900 brakes with 7900 sti's.... what would be wrong with the breaking if you kept your 7800 calipers with 7900 sti?? Would like to upgrade my shifting, but dont see any point in upgrading 7800 cranks, and brakes??

20k can get you a sh%#t hot hardtail.... or a very average full sus!!! Thats the difference!!

does anyone know why the Cervelo Test team ran Dura Ace 7800 this season?? Theres nothing wrong with it,,, just thought shimano would want 7900 through out all the shimano teams for marketing purposes??!!

My Hayes stroker trail disc brakes have always run fairly rough, and now squeel like crazy.. i have taken the pads out, and given a light sanding, thinking they were glazed or contaminated... even worse now, braking performance is now bad, and squeeling worse??? why has this happened, and how do i remedy??

Sorry Mampara.. i just remembered,, when i changed the cables 2 weeks ago, i ran through the gear clicks without cables in,, and it did exactly the same. The last click had a slightly longer travel!!

Yebo... setup is right,, its just that last gear i have to push the lever a little further before it clicks?

I have Shimano LX 580 shifters, about 3 months old. the rear derailleur has had a suspect shift since new. The shifts from smallest to second largest have the same "thumb travel", but the last "click" requires a bit further travel, to get the click!!! The problem is that, if you not sure which gear you are in, and you use the normal "thumb travel" for the bigest cog, it will shift up, then drop back!! If you treat each shift as though it were onto the biggest cog, then you jump 2 and come back to the selected one!!! Hope this makes sence, and someone can tell me if its normal, or faulty???
