I was enjoying reading this yesterday, and thought i would try something on my ride this morning.... i did 2 back to back sprints. Ok it was outside my house on a flat tarmac road, but i think the principle remains.. As i rode back into my road after my ride, i took 2 markers about 100meters apart. i did the first timed sprint from a stand still with fork locked, BUT rear "bobing"... and the second timed sprint over exact coarse with all suspension locked..... and guess what???? with locked rear suss........ i was noticably faster???? infact it felt plane sh@#t trying to sprint with the back bobing?? JB, i back your engineering savy!!!

he's a dumb ass.... he should have stuck to the 3 "D's" aproach, and just retreated out of the limelight.. (3 "D's" = deny, deny, deny)

check the beer can in the car.. this is the problem, these swines get high and drunk, and then hijack.... they will just pull the trigger... well done to this guy, just hope he isnt too phsycologically damaged after kill them..

i have no clue what the outcome will be, but my guess is the paint stripper might attack the resin holding the carbon fibre togther.

To be brutaly honest... if i were a local corporate looking to allocate sponsorship money, i would go mountain bike events for sure... but that one market... if i were one of the big european road cyclig sponsors, i would definetly look to invest in a pro tour in SA to broaden my exposure.... ans as for the SA cyling governing body,, hell,, the marketing has already been done by the epic!! its an easy sell!!! I think CSA arent thinking outside the box, they are missing a whole marketing / income generating avenue...

Everything malcolm said is true..... its the sports governing body that need to organise the longer pro races, with just the pros. maybe they will attract european teams if there are UCI points? You dont see batch "B" "C' "D" and "E" starting 5 minutes apart at Liege baston liege?? What malcolm is indirectly saying is, they want pro races... And what he said about how strong the mountain bikers are, because they race so much is also true..

which is the better frame?? my perfectly good condition Mongoose Carbon hardtail, or the very cool looking new Moorwood Kwela alu frame @ R 6 600??? Moorwood a bit heavier, but beautiful looking bike. pretty sure it also comes from a Tawain factory??

polar service is excellent.. I have sent my RS200 watch for new battery twicw, and both times they replaced the whole casing/strap for free? i didnt complain?

ask your LBS for some valve inners... i have the same problem, and shop gave me a couple that were lying in the workshop..

Anyone know what to do about brake levers not wanting to return after braking? the levers and push rods flap around while the pressure slowly comes back??

the only bit of advice for pushing is.... dont walk / run on the path, and put your bike on the rough edge... Rather put your bike on the smooth stuff and walk / run on the rough edge...

I'm picking up a new SC bone MTB flat bar tomorrow.... hope its strong, i weigh 75kg!!! i ran a thread a little while back, asking if anyone had issues with this bar, and i only got possitive feedback..

for every 1 incident like this on the roads, there are hundreds of civallised, polite and curtious incidents... unfortunately 1 like this is damaging, but i still believe the good out weights the bad... if it was the other way round, i, and most of you who put in hours on the road would be dead!!

I have a friend who is a GP (doctor)... He rekkons, if we knew how many people are living stressed to the max, we would all be alot more polite on the roads!! He says he sees them in his rooms every day, and they are like highly strung time bombs!!! dont mess with road rage, if you do something stupid, put your hand up in appology,, it difusses the situation immediately....
