  1. Thanks, I'll check it out!
  2. I want to start playing a game on the PC again, just some mindless thing during the odd hours over the holidays while I'm stuck at the computer. I haven't played any PC games in ages, though. It's always been the PS since they came out. Any suggestions? The last one I enjoyed playing was Dungeon Siege, a million years ago. It was fun because you could just point and click and the whole party would attack automatically. You could even pause a fight in the middle to change your strategy. I played Heroes of Might and Magic 6 a while ago, and that was quite a lot of fun. I've been looking at games like Titan Quest or Divinity - slightly older games that won't cost as much and take as much space.
  3. If anyone's looking for a decent series, I've found The Rookie with Nathan Fillion is a rather more thoughtful addition to the crime gene than I expected. Unlike Castle they make an effort to show some of the real situations cops could face and they treat it with respect. Still some humour (thank goodness) but a much more rounded, balanced show than Castle was, imo. So far a 7/10 for me with the potential to climb to an 8.
  4. Whatever you do, do not eat or drink ANYTHING they offer you here.
  5. This thread has gone over to the Dark Side. Where they have soggy cookies, apparently.
  6. I had to look this up. I am now going to convert to religious fanaticism and spend the rest of my days praying for a giant asteroid to kill us all.
  7. Hush, gentlemen. A MAN has appeared. http://i.imgur.com/BMGYJ2n.jpg
  8. I think they had a Marvel movie marathon just a couple of months ago, so I doubt they will do that again. But I do hope they broadcast some of the documentaries - it was always fascinating to listen to him.
  9. I think they're like that when they grow up with dogs. We had two cats when we got pups and the one would allow her face and ears to be washed for a while until she had enough, while the other wouldn't. He never really grew to like them. But after he died my brother got a kitten and he actually thinks he's a dog sometimes, I swear. He'll allow himself to be licked until he is soaking wet.
  10. DC movie marathon on TV: Green Lantern (2011) 4/10. Still as crap as I remembered it. Constantine (2005) 7/10. One of those underrated movies that's worth a second watch. The Dark Knight Rises (2012) 7/10. I've made no secret that I'm not a Christopher Nolan fan and that unlike (apparently) the rest of the galactic population I don't get a nerdgasm when I watch his movies. It's a pretty good movie, though.
  11. Vicious attack by savage animals recorded.
  12. Sigh. Why the f... would anyone want to f... up a perfectly good tree like that?
  13. He just ate a door. I think he'd like some meat now. [emoji6]
  14. Congratulations, America. You've done it again.
  15. Good morning! Do you have a moment to talk about our Lord and Saviour, the Great Cerberus?
  16. Because they don't have a braai area. Poor design if you ask me.
  17. Fat Buddha = Happy Buddha.
  18. My brother, like you, binged all the seasons non-stop. I just don't find it funny.

    Who remembers?

    In an alternate timeline...
  20. Mission Impossible: Fallout (2018) 7/10. I'm getting MI fatigue, because they all seem to blurring into the same movie. This one isn't bad, and Henry Cavill is excellent. If you like the MI movies, you'll love this one. But I'm starting to hear old Roger's voice when I watch a 55-year old Tom sprinting full speed in scene after scene: "I think you're getting too old for this s..."
  21. But where's the braai area?
  22. My favourite Rami Malek movie scene. Warning: NSFW. His scene starts at 1:26.
  23. London 2005, before they became world famous; Geraint Thomas, Ed Clancy, and Mark Cavendish – with an already quite well-known German rider, Jan Ulrich. Photo©John Pierce / PhotoSport International UK USA Asia http://www.veloveritas.co.uk/2016/10/01/john-pierce-part-three-aug16/
  24. Crazy Rich Asians 6/10 (2018). Good news: It's not bad if you like romcoms. It's competently made and Singapore is gorgeous. Bad news: While competent, it's not nearly in the class of famous romcoms like Pretty Woman or love Actually. For me to care about characters they have to be more than caricatures or one-dimensional representations of relationships. It's predictable and in some cases unconvincing.
