  1. Yes, same here. Gonna miss this place, met some cool people here and enjoyed the discussions, even the disagreements. But to check in here after another Level 4 lockdown and not have anyone to talk to about that, means there is nothing really left here for me to talk about at all. Gave you a follow, already following Patch, will follow anyone else who leaves their ID but I'm not very active on IG anymore. Take care, everyone! https://www.instagram.com/leonniemandt/ Edited to add my ID in MyBroadband is the same as here: Readsalot.
  2. Days of Thunder (1990). 7/10. Great soundtrack, great cast. Maybe not a great movie, but still fun after 30+ years. Evolution (2001). 7/10. Ghostbusters of the 00s (for me anyway) with great lines and scenes that never fail to make me laugh.

    Who remembers?

This used to be a hit in our house.
  4. Nobody is out. He he he.
  5. Anybody watching Invincible? If you're writing it off because it's animated, you're making a mistake. It's at the same level as The Boys. I am so thankful I never read the series, because I almost lost my mind at the end of the first episode.
  6. If I'm reading that article correctly Q deliberately distracted him, therefore he broke the rule. Am I missing something?
  7. Godzilla vs. Kong (2021) 6/10. Meh.

    Who remembers?

ESP - there will never be another club like it.
  9. Started City on a Hill. Excellent writing, excellent cast.
  10. Is it wrong that this made me laugh out loud?
  11. Revisited some favourites. Iron Man (2008) 8/10. It is simply mesmerising watching RDJ transform into Tony Stark, never mind how many times I see it. Thor Ragnarok (2017) 8/10. I can't wait to see what the irreverent Taika Waititi is going to do to the Star Wars universe after this. Lake Placid (1999) 7/10. Classic comedy horror with one of my favourite casts.
  12. I Care A lot (2020) 4/10. I stopped caring long before the movie ended. Had a decent premise and pissed all over it.
  13. I haven't tasted it, but making hollandaise sauce takes lots of practice to get right. It sounds like the problem is balance of flavours, which you can adjust. Do you make it with or without mustard?
  14. I won't. This is the kind of stuff that makes me sick from anger. Taking a little girl and controlling her from when she is young, simply because she is beautiful and you can exploit that, is no different from sexual slavery in my eyes. From what I understand the Jessica Simpson story is similarly brutal. I'm not a particularly big fan of either of them, but I hate the type of men who prey on little girls like them. I read the Marilyn Manson autobiography a while ago, and it was the closest I came to having nightmares as an adult. I have no doubt Evan Rachel Wood's stories would be similarly horrifying if I had the courage to read them.
  15. Eastern Promises is also good if you like dark violence. Got one of the most 'memorable' fight scenes of any movie, I'd dare claim. One of my favourites is Hidalgo, though, and it's based on a true story. Plus, Viggo apparently has a thing for horses, which makes the movie great to watch. And if you like Westerns you should check him out in Appaloosa with Ed Harris, an undervalued gem in my opinion.
  16. The Big Short (2015) 9/10. This movie actually gets better with repeated viewing, in my opinion.
  17. Now you've gone and broken up our beautiful friendship.
  18. Quite enjoyed the movie when it came out, ("I don't think you understand, these boys killed my dog.") and discovered the books as well. Pretty decent thrillers, but it made me dislike the series.
  19. I'd much rather watch Megan Fox than John Malkovich.
  20. Well, now I know why nobody ever recommended I take science as a career. [emoji38]
  21. It's been a while since my school science classes, but this just doesn't seem right.
