  1. enjoy it! i also bought the same bike recently and have been happy with it.
  2. and only one bottle cage mount under the down tube. surely important if you're buying a 'race' bike
  3. Haga - you talking about the Paragon ? I was keen on that bike and called various dealers about it. no one seemed keen to find out for me so I called JustFun who after several emails told me that they weren't going to bring it in. hope fully that'll change... sells for $1629.99 in the states
  4. could be that the battery has dis-charged too much: - "What is meant by self discharging? Self discharging is a constant activity of the battery?s electrodes even when not plugged in. The rate of self discharge is dependent on temperature. This means that after a certain time, batteries will discharge themselves, even when not in use. Through self discharge a NiMH battery will lose 80 % of its power within 3 months. The rate of self discharge is greater in warmer temperatures. Best temperature to store your battery is between 50 ?F to 77?F. - What is meant by over discharge and is this dangerous for the battery? An over discharge could cause a reverse polarity. Even one over discharge can completely destroy the battery. If the battery is not completely destroyed, over discharge will decrease the battery?s capacity. Most SIGMA lights have a battery status indicator to help alert you when the battery is running low." buckshot2007-02-14 02:10:24
  5. hi Thug - looks like that's from the latest issue of MBA online? I also subscribe. Can you tell me how you're able to edit/save pics etc?
  6. I'm old enough to have had a 'Biopace' crankset and am amused to see elliptical coming back. Does Bobby Julich still use them (when he doesn't crash)? Does anyone use these at the moment?
  7. thanks Ti, Marius can't make it tonight but will stay in touch and organise real soon
  8. at the risk of totally hijacking this baby, but anyone riding in town (deer park) again this week (am or pm)? Ti? also, any regular rides in Majik forest I can join (I work in plattekloof)? thanks
  9. if you keen to see more, search YouTube for footage of the 07 World Champs in Hooglede-Gits (Belgium). it's incredible how passionate the crowds are.

    Bar Ends

ok, let's all be honest now, and see how many people run bar ends with risers?
  11. i've still got a pair of porc's... i also had a tioga farmer john :-). that when they started making front and rear specific tyres
  12. thanks guys
  13. i was wondering how many here use a carbon fiber mountain bike handle bar? I haven't used one before and was thinking of a oversized 1inch riser bar. anyone got any scary stories of them cracking/breaking? maybe they've become stronger recently with better composite manufacturing but I've seen a couple go and i can't afford new front teeth...
  14. thanks mate, that's helpful. would love to test your rig soon to get the whole feel and chat more about this. have you heard anything about the fishers? i thought i saw Richard Beswick on one at the Hill to Hill race.
  15. hi Ti - i'm looking for a new bike at the moment. i know you don't bother looking or talking about hardtails anymore these days , but my budget doesn't allow a race quality suspension bike yet. as a fellow 6 ft plus mountain biker, would you still suggest considering the benefits of a 'niner if it's a HT? i'm kind of identifying with what you're saying about riding a 26' wheeled bike... who's selling 'niner HT's in the local market?
  16. in my case? $$$ - especially when i also like riding quality stuff...
  17. rock, did you get the latest email from chain reaction? they've launched their own branded wheel and bike bags with an intro discount. they look ok...
  18. thanks for the correction. my wife was fighting me for the remote to watch Survivor, so i wasn't listening properly...
  19. Does anyone have more info on the MTB race featured on SC last night that went through the Baviaanskloof ? If you've done it, would be great to hear some reviews. thanks.
  20. those pics are beautiful man...
  21. hey, rock, did i mention that my GT with Tange Prestige tubing was also red?
  22. did anyone here ever own a Bridgestone MB Zip? I didn't get to ride one much but i think they were quite good, if a little 'noodly'... (technical term)
  23. isn't it funny how the steel bikes are the one's that are the most memorable? the bike i remember most fondly was a Tange Prestige GT Richter 8.0. What a sweet ride...
