  1. Agree it was great. I like the new section at the estate (Eye of Africa?).
  2. Please could somebody help with a GPX file for the "new" route? Thanks.
  3. Was on my list to do next year but see its the same weekend as the 36One Challenge!
  4. Agree with DBAD just follow the other riders! We were at the back end of the field but there were always other riders in sight.
  5. Same day as the TransGariep
  6. Apologies JK7 I was thinking of this weekends Lionman. Cullinan's gain was 754m on my Garmin. I found the Lionman much tougher than Cullinan. Was a bit technical just before the narrow gap between the rocks that I hardly fit through. Cannot recall any major climbing stress (unlike Lionman). Think it is an option as a first marathon.
  7. Close to 1000m gain. The climb to the tower was tough, long and rocky.
  8. love2fly I did the event in 2017 and also enjoyed it. Wanted to do it again one day. Hopefully just a misfire this year!?
  9. Yes received during the course of yesterday. Has all the info you need.
  10. Thanks Sidersky.
  11. Any confirmation of the race number collection point?
  12. Was thinking of entering the event. Thanks for the advice. I'm a back marker and would not want to put myself in danger.
  13. When I got to the finish Bavaria was sold out and only had water. I'm slow I know.
  14. Registered for the full after doing the 2 x Relay this year!
  15. Blokman you cant be at the back - I'm at the back
  16. 44 degrees predicted for Oudtshoorn today
  17. Thanks TSF and ycowley. My weight+climbing+sand=massive leg burn.
  18. Got this from the web: http://inthebunch.co.za/2017/06/trails-in-top-form-for-sondela-mtb-classic/
  19. Any route profiles available for the 40km or 60km? Much appreciated.
  20. Peach book me 2 spots for the beginners on the 18th please.
  21. +1
  22. Wife and I doing the 65km. Wife chatted to one of the organisers and he said it would be flat (less than 300m gain - they do not have a route profile). The race is not over the mountain but around it. But for the first part mud should not be a problem. See you there!
