You shouldn't really worry about what people think - I just cringe when i see guys (or girls) wearing them. Once saw someone who came off hard, their shoulders were shredded - no sleeves, no protection... EINA!!!
  2. Well done for stirring, since this is your second post - EVER... or are you one of those "pissies" that create a new profile to stir some stinky brown stuff? my 2c
  3. Mine has been in Jhb since the 21st July... can't believe it takes almost as long to get from China to Jhb, as it does to get from Jhb to Cpt... I'll let you know when i receive mine, and post a pic so you guys can see the quality...
  4. Maybe we can export some more to the Cape then
  5. Hectic!!!
  6. A good mate of mine got one of those new yeti's - he is quite a tall guy and totally loves the yeti. And what's ncie about it, there's not many of them around... and it looks really really awesome!!!
  7. So is this stuff bad then???
  8. I couldn't help but notice this advert on the hub? I know it's a google advert - so it's probably not thehub's fault... but it just doesn't seem right A quote from the advertised site: What is EPO-BOOST™? EPO-BOOST™ is the world’s first all-natural erythropoietin (EPO) stimulator & ergogenic plasma builder. Designed to promote superior physical performance & endurance, and significantly increase strength and speed, EPO BOOST™ is the endurance athlete’s answer to oxygen utilization enhancement. What do you guys think? I admit I don't know much about how EPO works, but I would never use this stuff - and I don't know if this is REAL EPo... but none the less - It's like advertising J&B on an AA website...
  9. I bought from them... and their service (and pricing) is excellent... this is really good form guys!
  10. I know the guys at CMC used to sell them, but sent all their wheels back due to continuous problems. Leon (owner of CMC) had a pair on his Ridley, but took them off as well. That's all I've heard about them. The result was that I saved up a bit more and bought a set of Mavic SLR's And me thinks going with the well known brands (Fulcrum, Mavic, Reynolds, Zipp etc etc) you are usually guaranteed of after sales service...
  11. As for bringing it back into SA, I've heard of guys just wheeling it through customs and saying it's a bike they took out of the country to train on while out of SA - maybe make it look a bit "used", get the tyres a little dusty??? Or hope that the custom guys are a little "vaak"...
  12. I am so bored of LeMond and his cynical views. I don't even read the articles he is quoted in anymore. great cyclists, not someone I admire as a person really... Just my 2c
  13. Hi Indigo Kid... sorry, I forgot to mention I took an extra long-sleeve jersey, so mine would be more than "specialized"... my bad I think it's $49.99 per clothing "set", and then $5 postage...
  14. I don't know if he makes quite that much profit... my kit cost +-R750, after being converted by the "blue bank" and of course selling me $$$ at a massive profit for themselves (here's hoping I don't have to pay import duties on top of that).
  15. Hi SilverBoy - yip I was the guy in the retro red "Northerns" jersey - a true classic hand-me-down from my old man, who got that specific top in 1973!!! Say hi next time... Sorry about my technical heading out on Wellington road - a quick pick up by the backup vehicle, fixed my wheel in the van, was dropped off ahead of the bunch and was ready to rock and roll. I really love these Wednesday night rides...
  16. So my tracking info shows it took a week for my "merchadise" to get from China to Jhb. Let's see how long it takes to get from Jhb to Cpt...
  17. Tonight we did about 60km... out on Wellington rd, onto Occultdale, then onto Adderly, left onto Spes Bona and then home via Wellinton rd. The pace was nice and rustig out on Wellington, and we push it abit on the gravel sections, but then we wait for everyone to regroup. It's a nice social bunch of guys. Covie and co come join us - there's only one way to get fit. As for lights - I use an Owlight, R599 on cwc online. It's perfect!
  18. B) See you guys tonight
  19. Last chance - we are starting soon... PM me if interested.
  20. I should be getting my "merchandise" early next week... tracking says it left China last week Wednesday.
  21. their SRAM pricing is the best I could find. Just got my Force groupo
  22. it's nice when there's online competition... you can shop around from your desktop
  23. Okay, apparently they did send a whole lot of hubbers a whole lot of spam, which pee'ed on some hubbers batteries... besides that... I think buycycle is very cool. When you mail them with queries they reply chop-chop and really go out of their way. I ordered a groupo and wanted to get a BB30, so these guys even went as far as to contacting the agents who imported my bike to find out if it was BB30 compatible. I had a lot of questions before parting with my hard earned $cash$ and they were more tha n willing to answer and give advise! WELL DONE!
  24. Me agrees, I have a black mtb and the scratches on her scream of character. I treasure every scratch... Bike looks okay, but not my cup of tea. May look great if you are into your "gold teeth"
  25. It's a limited TdF Red Groupo - yellow in colour for the previous tour winners. Sastre / Lance / Pistol have it on their bike.
