  1. No one interested?
  2. Thanks for last night - really enjoyed the ride, a great group of guys to ride with. And thanks to the 3 gents that helped when my chain broke in Majik - and guided me out of the darkness with their lights... I'll be back next week
  3. For R255 per year, i think PPA does a decent job. It's a given, things aren't (and probably never will be) perfect. Thanks for the effort to make PPA more efficient with your legitimate concerns, Frail. Much appreciated.
  4. i wouldn't be suprised actually
  5. That looks awesome... but Boonen's team (Quick Step) ride with FastForward wheels, not Campy.
  6. Great Stuff... see you tonight
  7. Hi Chris, I'm hoping to join you guys tonight - will you be doing any serious off road stuff or is it mostly a tar route?
  8. Agreed... "total immersion" is very effective for pool swimming, however the technique differs substantially for open water swimming. In saying that, some of the T.I methods are used, but it's not wholly sufficient.
  9. Hi Guys, I am looking for 2 or 3 folks who would like to join in for swim training - specifically for IronMan next year. I have a coach who is willing to coach us, 1 lesson a week for an hour (+-R400 per month). This will be offered at Virgin Active Tygervalley. This training is aimed at stroke correction, which is vital in swimming the 3.9km in IronMan events, and still saving energy for the cycle and run legs that lie ahead. ie. effieciency!!! The stroke correction training comes with a training program. Please pm me ASAP if you are interested. Training to hopefully start in the next few weeks.
  10. Niiiiiiiiice... a huber with true taste
  11. What is the route like that you guys take? Lights? What lights do you recommend? Will a bright flashing rear light and a guppy light for the front be okay??? I saw you guys last week Wednesday - it looked like a HUGE Christmas tree coming down Tygervalley road... beautiful
  12. Sorry to hear about your bikes that went "walkies"... Don't want to hijack your thread... but what happens to the stolen bikes? Surely most of our bikes are custom to a degree, and we'd be able to identify them if we spot them on the road... Is it possible that they are "exported"? Sold as parts?
  13. I've also recently moved to Indwe... firstly it's nice having one go to person - and not having to deal with call centres... In the first month i moved to Indwe, I had a nasty fall. I called the broker, emailed her a quote of the damage (and she told me I have medical cover - which came in handy because Diskakery refused to pay the hospital bill). Submitted my quotes and hospital bill on the Tuesday morning... Thursday I got a call to say the money has been paid into my account. What a pleasure! My bikes premiums are good - but I had to let Indwe take over my household and car insurance to get good rates for my bike. Indwe all the way!
  14. I like the way you think Bos
  15. I give way to the guys belting downhill... it just seems like the right thing to do. I would like to think that if I was belting downhill on a piece of single track and some guy was weaving his way up, he would couteously allow me right of way. Tit for tat scenario. my 2c
  16. I am begining to have my doubts about CMC... Why? I've had a few bad experiences there lately... Leon and Jaco are really good okes... I've just been let down one to many times.
  17. I am begining to have my doubts about CMC...
  18. Glad you are okay Vaste. We all ride that road so often... seems like the safest place to train is at the Velodrom But seriously... what can we do?
  19. I don't know... if this happens to be true I think the sport of cycling will loose all credibility... Cancellera has always come across as a great sportsman (in all senses of the word), I can't see him blatantly cheating like this video implies. He has always been strong, winning TT's for years. I think it's a load of poef... my 2c worth.
  20. Hi Marries, I had the same problem with a set of Mavic SLR's... apparently there are very specific spacers that mavic uses, once those where fitted to the hub / cassette combo the problem was solved. I'm not sure about what the spacers are precisely - my LBS just slipped them on for me, and everything was A-okay...
  21. On Saturday at the Afrimat Keeromberg Mtb ride (between Worcester and De Doorns) I had a really bad (and spectacular) mtb accident, and was consequently rushed to Worcester Medi Clinic on a spine board wearing a neck brace and fearing the worse. Fortunately nothing was broken (besides my Bell Sweep helmet) - I suffered heavy bruising to my right shoulder and whiplash injuries to my neck (and of course the mandotory road rash that comes with the territory). I just want to say thanks to a guy by the name of Myles who immediately came to my aid, he called the emergency number and stayed with me while waiting for the ambulance. He did a fantastic job of reassuring me that the medics would be there soon and did his best to get all the important info from me that he could, and importantly keeping me still. I have no idea who Myles is, or where he is from... but it's nice to know that there are people like you out there. All I can say is thanks... you're a hero!
  22. If you don't have the legs you can ride a R100k Pinarello Dogma60.1 and look like a complete palooka when you get dropped on the first hint of a climb. Ride what your pocket can afford, enjoy it... get strong and kick butt on a bike you know didn't break the bank. Some famous guy (I think he won a few small races) said "it's not about the bike
  23. It's a pity, Leon and Jaco always give great service, and always give friendly advise. They don't carry much stock as they try and focus on the maintenance side of things.
  24. Liz actually rides for the Belgium woman's Lotto team - CycleLab has got a finger in the pie so to speak (NOTE: NOT Liz's pie)... CycleLab is one of the teams sponsors. MariusL2010-05-18 09:32:58
