  1. Is there a difference in the travel of a SRAM vs Shimano Road Front derailleur (I'm, aware that the RD is different 1:1 vs 2:1 travel..) Having trouble adjusting the FD so that it does shift up and does not rub when in 1st & 2nd on the inner chain ring... Using Force RD and have a Ultegra FD with SRAM R2C Bar End Shifters ?? Thanks
  2. Another option could be http://www.stagescycling.com/stagespower and starting at $699.... Not sure how you would get one, have launched, not sure on availability...
  3. Closest I've seen is: http://www.dcrainmaker.com/2013/07/viiiiva-bluetooth-bridge.html Not Polar, but Ant+ and Bluetooth...
  4. 2nd get the Polar Bluetooth unit. The S4 should be Bluetooth 4, therefore you won't need any additional add in devices like pictured in the OP's link.
  5. Anybody used http://www.cyclesonline.co.za ? Good bad ?
  6. I'm quite happy with mine, given only race with them, touch wood, never had a puncture on 3 sets in 5 years... (Normally 2 x Ultra Tri's and 6 or so std tri's in a year) Agree not the longest lasting tyres, but did see a life expectancy somewhere of about 1500 km's
  7. Only Teams can substitute, individuals are not allowed to...
  8. I wonder why this previous thread got deleted, too close to the truth ???

  11. I converted a 29er Stan's Crest to tubeless... (Maxis Crossmark UST) Used Insulation tape round twice first, then a single layer of Stans Yellow Tubeless rim Tape. Created the Valve hole with a Soldering Iron. (Saw a Bike mechanic do it with a sharp instrument and the tape split...) Inserted the Tubeless Valve. Mounted Tyre plus sealant, lost of soapy water solution on Bead, Done!! Basically is airtight, even after a week or so...
  12. Azonic, this might be a pain to do, but would give you the answers you seek, http://sheldonbrown.com/gears/, plug in your crank length ,cassette specs and see the results.... ?
  13. 11/36 10 Spd Cassette, 10Spd XT Chain and the same crank, Runs fine, did a bit of research before hand, were a few minor concerns regarding the spacing between blades which might make the setting of the derailleur a bit fine, but I have got it going perfectly on a 3 x 10. Given I don't do the Big Big or small small combos deliberatley....
  14. I converted from 9 spd 26" to 10Spd 29", Used the same Crank, XT 770, the front shifting feels the same...
  15. Duly noted... Thanks
  16. I see the 2012 Conti X-King 29" Protection is Tubleless Ready ? How ready is 'Tubeless Ready' ? Was thinking of going Maxis Crossmark UST, but the lighter Conti Protection is appealing... Have ready some reports that the Protection still leaks a bit in a Tubeless setup ..?? Any experience or comments on these 2 ? Thanks
  17. What's the difference between the 9 & 10 Spd XT M770 cranksets ? I'm looking at getting a new bike that is 10 spd and wanted to replace the Deore Crank with my current XT 9Spd... Thanks
  18. Get a Power Meter instead, will provide more speed than a different bike...
  19. Has anybody have any comments / review on the Rapide Evolution 29 Carbon frame ? http://www.rapide.co...volution29.aspx Considering the Momsen AL529 or taking the newish XT groupset from my existing bike to build a new 29er, plus wheels etc... Thanks
  20. Looking at the X-King tyre for a tubeless setup and have read the Protection can be used tubeless... X-King Protection: 4 plies / total 240 tp - i 630g X-King UST: 3 plies / total 330 tpi - 840g Is there an advantage to sticking with the UST or run some risks with the Protection ? Opinions ? Thanks
  21. New season starts next week.... Do a search on DSTV.com, will give time and channels
  22. Just out of Interest, how do you plan on getting any out of towners to even enter next years race ? With the cost of accommodation and airfares presumably not being refundable this year, how many will take the risk ?
  23. To add to this, R60 is approx what Speed Services, Counter to counter would cost, otherwise ordinary eccono mail with tracking number is approx R18/kg... Don't know where R25 fits in....
  24. For Conti GP4000/Gatorskins 2096 at 110psi is pretty accuarate when tested on a distance of 100km's. For MTB I have used 2043 for Crossmaks 2.2's
