I recently purchased a TT bike for doing triathlons, but I was wondering if one would put tyre sealant in the tyres of a TT bike or not

Are you looking at doing the Trans Baviaans on you TT in sub8 ?

I believe it has to be specially made for tubeless rims and tyres, to go tubeless on a roadbike. I don't think it'll work for regular tyres, however, putting some into a inner tube, like 50ml, could work wonders though...

i disagree: u can stick it in any tire and it will work the same, as long as it doesnt leak out before hand that is ;) a road bike tire is pumped up to pretty high pressures, so that bead should be pretty snug on the rim. I say go for it and let us know.

I'm clueless, but dont roadies have tubeless setups?

I disagree:road tyres run at much higher pressure than mtb and are much thinner on the casing. If you get a small thorn on a road tyre it sprays sealant for ages before it seals and i am using Joes road sealant that is thicker than normal.

Tubeless for road is still very expensive and only a handful of rims are compatible.

aaah.. that makes lots of sense Gummi. Totally didnt factor in that air pressure, even though mentioning it. however, once it does seal, it's bomb and go? better than struggling to change the tube on the go?

The tyre pressure does concern me, WRT the sealant going everywhere once there is a puncture. I think I will speak to the guys at the shop and see what they recommend.
