TNT1 Posted July 3, 2012 Share Marussia driver Maria de Villota has been injured during testing at the Duxford circuit in Cambridgeshire.Although the full severity of the injury is not yet known, Sky Sports F1 sources have confirmed that De Villota has required assistance from the emergency services in the wake of the crash.According to eye-witnesses, De Villota crashed into a stationary vehicle whilst returning to the pits after completing a single installation lap. Her family are at the hospital and we are doing everything possible to support them."We ask for everyone's patience and understanding with regard to updates on Maria's condition. Maria de Villota has been taken off the critical list after having further surgery following her serious accident while testing for Marussia on Tuesday.The Spaniard is now in a "serious but stable" condition in light of the operation at Addenbrooke's Hospital in Cambridge required for her facial injuries.The 32-year-old was testing at Duxford Airfield when the accident, which resulted in her losing her right eye, occurred.A Marussia statement read: "This was a planned procedure that would depend upon the continued stability of Maria's head injuries."Whilst Maria remains acutely ill, this confirms she has been responding well to the treatment she has received since her accident."Marussia statement Quotes of the week "This morning the medical team were sufficiently happy with her progress to allow the operation to go ahead.
