Generic answer.

1) Nothing in PE, sorry. Same applies as to Durban, get 5 guys together and I'll travel.

2) Cost: R2880-00. All the included goodies are listed on the website. Look under Services, Courses. DIY Repair and Maintenance.

3) To book, send me an e-mail with your preferred date and I'll send you an info sheet and of course an invoice.

4) Durban guys...debate a date.

Any more guys keen for the Durban course? We have 4 so far, 1 more needed. Do we need to have a place to have the course at Johan? Is that something the group of us must organise? Anything else besides the dates? So the four guys so far, any weekends that are no good at all?

Thanks

Is it R2880 regardless of type of course?

If any of you guys are in doubt about committing to this, just do it.

The payback time is less than 1 year, and it will last you a lifetime.. In fact I cannot think of a better investment into your cycling.

The fact you walk out with your own bike fully serviced, by yourself is even better.

Count me in! Making the trip from PMB will be no hassle at all.

Now to set a date .... and venue I would guess.

The UCI World Cup weekend is certainly out of the question! In May the weekend of Saturday 14th May is also out. Also not available in July on the weekend of Saturday 2nd of July. Otherwise I'm pretty free

Generic Answer No 2:

1) As someone said, different prices for different courses. The R&M course is two full days with meals and goodies and stuff. The Fork Maintenance workshop the Friday afternoon before the course, (CTN), is R780-00. This includes oil but not fork seals.

2) Yes, my next course is in Durbanville. I use Clara Anna Fontein as a venue.

3) Durban Surfer Gang: I need a low-key conference centre or B&B with an barn attached. If you guys can point me to what you perceive to be a suitable venue, I'll do the homework and book etc. We need a place where we can sit around a table and talk, with an adjacent space where we can set up workstands and work. Pretty B&Bs with frilly white curtains seem to shy away from my bookings. It needs to be a fairly robust place like Clara Anna Fontein in Cape Town where we chase the horses out of the hall before we start. Obviously they must also serve food and have a proper coffee machine.

4) Parktool text book. Yup, the 2nd Edition is the one we use.

5) Where to book? Send me an e-mail with your date and location and I'll respond with an invoice and information.

6) Who can do it? Anyone - boys and girls (20% if my customers are ladies), with a passion for cycling and a determination to take control of their maintenance.

7) Road bike or Mountain bike? The course is generic and bike-agnostic. The techniques are exactly the same. Some students bring both bikes and perform some operations on the one, others on the other. \

8) What will you learn in the two days? Everything other than how to build wheels and service shocks and forks. Those topics are covered in different courses.

Any other questions? Shoot.
