I am not to sure what patch kits you refering to but a tubeless patch kit would basicly be your needle and a few plugs . These you can find at any bike shop (expensive) or from your local Midas or tyre shop for half the price . I do prefer the ones you get for car tyres as they can plug really beeeeg holes but you can also use them for small holes by just pulling a piece off .

Ahhhh, nope it's not the needle and plugs version, it's like you say the ones they use on cars.

It's a beeg patch with a bit of latex on the bottom that you need to glue and leave to harden on the tyre for 10 mins or so. You need these if you have really large cuts as the plugs wont do.

They do sell these on CRC but for the life of me I can't find them in the LBS. They only sell gators that work for tubed tyres.

I'll admit that I know very little about tubeless tyres, but when enquiring about going tubeless and seeing a massive hole in the sidewall of the tyre, I was told to put money in it... literally... like a R10 note... although the person giving the advice said that R100 works better, haha!

I was then told my other option is a 'tyre boot'...http://www.brilliantbikes.co.uk/93-807-large/park-tool-usa-emergency-tyre-boot-tb-2.jpg

Yeah, store bought, emergency like a bank note, or home-made like a piece of old car inner tube or a piece of old tubby, a gaiter is still a gaiter.

It's a 29er, so a gaiter is not a gaiter. A big gaiter is needed from a 19" 4X4 tyre not some 15" car tyre.

Who kakked you out? That's bizarre. Unless it was Hendrik, then I guess that's ok. I owe him a beer, so he can *** me out when I see him then.
