I have had burps at pressure of 1.8 bar on the front wheel twice within the first 2 weeks of riding. I have conversions and not ust rims. Since increasing the pressure to 2.2 no further problems. Now looking at upgrading my rims to ust but keeping the hubs as they are already good enough for me and this is a more affordable option. Running a softtail 29er the difference in tyre pressure is not that noticeable anyway but I would like to run them slightly softer for certain conditions hence the rim upgrade.

on the side of the tyre there is a recommended minimum and maximum pressure. You can drop below this range, but remember you bought the 29er to go over rocks and not around them, so remember snake bits happen at low pressure. Experiment until you lose a tyre or two to snake bites and a rim to rocks. good luck.

Aggies - I am 88 kg and ride my 29er (proudly I may add)with 2 bar in rear and 1.8 in the front (tubeless). Im experimenting now I did one ride 1.8 rear and 1.6 in the front and I think the grip was better...but Im im fairly new in MTB so I lack years of expirience to compare.

The formula in my head right now is 2 and 1.8, but for muddy drop by .2

If you go to Stanns website he has a little calculator...it shows PSI but then you just find another website to convert that to Bar. In any case - the numbers it calculates is actually a tad higher than what im riding. My brother in law is also on a 29er tubeless and seems to like higher pressures.

Ive searched the web for answers to these questions as well and mostly got 'try and see' - quite frustrating as I dont want a 2 year learning curve.

Aggies - if you go lower - please let us know the results please

Guys what should I run my 26er at?

I am 90kg.

Do I set diffrent pressure for diffrent rides eg. Northern Farms and Teak or say Van Gaalens or do I leave standard?

And what is the correct pressure for my road bike?
