**** you and **** your kind and i really hope your front washes out and you eat curb.

Coming off the M5 taking the offramp. Two cycles in the left yellow lane. I slow down. Fcking moron turns right into oncoming traffic, does not even bother LOOKING, but instead seems to be looking at his riding partner who still had some from of intelligent thought by staying in the yellow lane.

More braking. Then he notices i'm coming along, and nearly f'ing dismounts inthe middle of the road.

I throw all anchors, tires skidding and car starting to fish tail. Stop less than 1m from this f'ing fool. Gets on his bike, and rides AGAINST traffic down the RHS yellow lane and shouts Sorry with a huge smug-ridden smile on his face as he passes.

A sorry?

Then breaks more rules of the road.( he went back down to the M5 to continue his f'ing miserable way).

I came within a whisker of possibly killing a cyclist today. I had to stop again later to becalm myself, and then went looking for the fool cos i really really wanted to smash some sense into his knucklehead. I hope the curb does me the favor.

I dont have mercy for morons like this. THey give every single cyclist, roadie or mTBer, a filthy name. So **** you!

Sheejh dude, maybe you should just cut down on your use of the F word... maybe that was a beginner , and you could rather used all your energy(instead of swearing) and help him correctly in dealing with the situation. And btw, it takes quite some speed to make a car fishtail, so I hope you weren't speeding.

hahah cervelo.. miss the point completely. huge difference between fishtailing and starting to. In fact, if u had any mechanical appreciation for the momentum of a mass the size of an automobile, then perhaps you wouldnt be so quick to jump to that slanted opine of yours. Some speed you reckon? What did u have in mind, come, detail your thinly veiled accusation pls.

hmm, helped him understand the error of his ways. errrm. he is an adult. he just FCKD up. I'm pretty sure it was apparent who was in the wrong and what he should've done, even if you didnt. Pity too that i didnt think of helping this lost soul see the error of his ways. I was too busy praying I wouldnt smash into his smug little face and destroy his roadie apparel. and then when i'd stopped less than 1m from his little stupid face, i started thanking that to which i was praying, for Not going to jail that day. yeah, i'd reckon I was a tad busy right that minute.

As for this alleged speed you are acccusing me of by implication, if were actually going too fast, i would not be able to give you the displeasure of this rant. I'd been sitting in jail wondering how many similar morons there are on the hub making excuses for idiotic road manners. actually i wouldnt. id be worried about that bar of soap lying on the tiles and really wonder why everyone was standing behind me....

Banesto: if you could hook me up with those two, i'd appreciate it.

Hopefully to clarify 1 point in debate, Wikipedia reckons it is a freeway and thus illegal http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/M5_road_(Cape_Town)

Anyone on the hub who both cycles and drives knows that there are some absolute idiots that ride bikes (and even as cyclists, we are allowed to admit this!). It doesn't mean we are all idiots, but some just are (many drivers too - like the guy that jumped a red robot in front of me this morning which resulted in a few choice words which were not nearly as polite as the opening post!). This is just a fact of life and hopefully if they read something like this post they will get a wake up call and see they could have had their cycling careers/lives cut very short through their ignorance and will think twice about doing it again.

Wow Jarek your normally the king of civil  i like this new and improved you

And yeah best is to shrug all this off

I made the mistake of trying to have a chat to the guy that swerved in front of me. And he duely proceeded to give me the finger. (and beleive it or not i was polite in asking him to stick to the shoulder of the road and to not swerve in front of cars where the speed limit is 120kmh.

The end result i could handle his stupidity, but i wasnt going to tolerate his finger, so i aptly stopped again put the car in reverse and aimed for the FCKR. Pitty he was able to dodge my little driving exhibition (im claiming for a refund on my advanced driving course, 1 it saved his life and 2 i obviously did'nt learn enough using my reverse gear)

Long story short this dckhead with tells me the "highway code" allowes them to ride 2 abreast anywhere on a road. Where i duely informed him with a proper pommy accent that A this is not the UK we have no Highway Code, and B The UK highway code also only permits single file.

And in all this i would have expected his riding buddy to stop and at least back up his mate. Well his buddy stepped on the gas ground his cranks as hard as he could leaving his poor buddy to deal with me all by himself.

I eventually just had to laugh at this moronic prick, told him to update his will, becuase if he ever does that again he wont be as lucky he will either get run over or beaten to death or both.

Cycling is illegal on anyroad in South Africa with an M or N designation, ie, N1 N2 and the M3 and M5. yet it doesnt seem to bother people especially where M roads merge with urban areas, like the M3.

Cycling is only illegal on National highways (N roads) and on other roads where the freeway sign is shown. M roads are quite legal to cycle on, if no freeway sign is shown.

That depends who you speak too, the official i had a conversation with says no cycling on M or N roads. Ill rather go on the information I was given, than opinions on a forum. According to him M or Metropolitan roads were designed exclusivly for high motor vehicle use. Hence no cycling is allowed. Although its "tolerated" in certain areas.
