It still intrigues me that this thread is going despite the fact that this rider and/or his family is not here to represent his views.

That is uncool.

Action has been taken by the officials.

So be it.

May the offending rider learn his lesson.

May the other rider recover quickly.

AirBender, you should know by now that this isn't a court with evidence and testimony of both sides - here we go on gut feel and opinion :D

From what I can understand, the offending rider hasn't learnt his lesson in the past and nothing indicates that he will now. I think that is where more of the anger stems from.

What he did was "uncool". Theres nothing stopping him from posting here. In fact I am sure most would like to hear excactly why he felt it necessary to do what he did.

More uncool is that the hearing took place with only one party present - the fouled rider was not given the opportunity to present his side.

also intrigued why you are so keen on sweeping this under the carpet?

it is uncool? why?

thats it then. no more dissing malema. or lance. or cycling sa or the ppa. until they or their representatives personally log on here to express their views...

yes the 'officials' have decided. and unfortunately it is so.

just curious why it is 'uncool' to express our opinion about the verdict?

Mock, I think what AirBender is reffering to is the riders side of the story. We have not had the rider defend themselves, so we dont have the other side of the coin so to speak.

verdict opinion expressing is allowed tho .... surely ?

fully agree, it would be so enlightening to hear the other side of the story. but we almost always will never have that luxury. but still, that shouldn't prevent us from discussing the issues at hand, or expressing our views.

besides, its more entertaining this way... eish... facts... they just ruin an entertaining discussion :D

Thanx, Slowbee, for explaining my intent.

There are two sides to a story.

By uncool, I also mean unfair.

Truth emerges when everybody involved has a 'voice'.

Limited vision and understanding emerges when one side has a 'voice' and another is silent.

Browsing through this thread, made me decide on my race strategy for the upcoming season!!!

1) Bugger that cold morning, wet and dark rides (hard work dont pay off)

2) Bugger doping product (you get 2 year bans)

3) i wanna win so bad, im going to make you all fall (if, yes only if, im found guilty i can do with a 2 month 'rest')

You all wanna congratulate me on my win already?

Big difference Malema, Lance and CSA are public figures/entities the child/junior (albeit errant one in this case) is not. I am also glad to see all the holier than thou, never made a mistake in my life individuals so keen on handing out punishment. If he is really such an evil then the Wheel of Cycling will sort him out. I have seen similar incidents happen on our local tracks before the advent of the hub and the comments were normally "that's track cycling, it's tough....." etc.

what daniels did is way beyond what is accepted by the officials and participants wrt aggressive riding. whatever his story is does not give him the right to lean over and cause a rider to fall. his club & province should revoke his csa license. any other club / province should turn down his application for membership. then lets see what csa do.

i don't think people are being 'holier than thou'. i get the feeling they just like the same rules to apply to everyone.

"that's track cycling, it's tough....." etc.

so in your books, that makes this behaviour acceptable?

and sure, it would be nice if they're able to tell their side. but its not like we are suppressing them. if you feel really compelled to, write them a letter and tell them about this thread. i'm sure everyone here would like to hear their side. oh yeah, this bloke races in public where he can endanger others, isn't that public enough?

anyhat. nite everyone. hope no one grabs my handlebars at hex valley tomorrow. you roadies/track cyclists on mtbs scare me!

Yeah, I know, Andydude... Good point.

Just making a note about the extent of the venting without the relevant party in the room, so to speak.

It's a lil bizarre... Like a dog howling at the moon not for a few hours, but for days on end.
