One of the best bikes I ever had, a Viking with Shimano 600.

Edit: I'm not Steve Hofmeyer, I'm not your dad.

Yah...Hofmeyer might have drawn some benefit from numbnuts

My dad just had a nice laugh at my ignorance, and he agrees on the Viking

New age cyclists ;) When I started my fun riding I had a pair of toe clip & cleat leather cycling shoes. Nothing as sexy as these, but still a gazillion times sexier than any synthetic material shoes out there now ;) Ok, some might take that as a challenge ;)

Replaced the toe clips with a pair of proper clipless LOOKs which cost the royal sum of R300(/340?) 'twas a few years ago... like 20! ohmy.gif

My first pair:

Married to a 1970's Zini, the original Italian one, not the local built under license version, with Campag Record.

I have a Vitus 979 1980's model. Perfect for fixie or single speed, but I won't convert it. Its a classic and worth more in its original state in the long run.

I say keep it as is, it will save you some trouble in the long run

SO, the first ride was awesome. The bike is very comfortable  I did not go far, the rear tyre has slow leak.

This was a lot more comfy on the drops than my merida, and feels very responsive. The toe cages need some getting used to, I kept pulling my feet out when pushing a bit harder

Anybody have any idea on these tyres? I don't know what hat loose piece of canvas is between the tyre and rim?

the loose piece of canvas is part of the tubby.
